Chicago White Sox counting on Dewayne Wise and Brian Anderson

Full story: Chicago Tribune

The White Sox don't want Dewayne Wise to change his style and reminded him of that after a mini-slump last month.

They let anybody on the internet don't they. Such juvenille behavior. To stay on topic here, I read that Podsednik got released yesterday from the Rockies. They could make him an offer.

What is wrong with you two fools? This is a sports blog not a gay bar. Stay on point. The platoon system gives different looks both have average to above average speed both are fairly good baserunners now if their collective on base % improves we have something special.

When did this become a personal posting site? I wish the Tribune would screen this type of nonsense. The baseball season is about to begin and this is the best you can do? Get a life. Go Sox!

Agreed.
Seriously.
But, the Tribune ships this over to Topix which has no regulations, which is unfortunate.
As you can see, the "Jim Nada" guy is obsessed with me and has posted my name, phone and address on this site.

If they are counting on these two and counting on Colon and Contreras, I'm counting on keeping more of my money this year and missing some games at the Cell.
This sure looks like a 3rd place team if everything goes right,if it doesn't,ouch.

Wise can swing the bat...
Anderson will NOT be the lead-off hitter and will only play in a backup role or if Wise doesn't start out hot.
Even if Colon and Contreras totally fail, which is unlikely, the Sox have adequate backup for the back-end spots of their rotation with Richard and Poreda first and then Broadway, Marquez and Egbert.
What I'd worry about (and I don't really worry about the White Sox to be honest as they're really not important in my active life) are:
Quentin's injury history and steroid whispers...
Dye's downward spiral...
Fields' defense...
AJ's defense.

Anderson will get plent of AB's this year mainly against left handed starters plus will be used defensively. I don't expect Colon to make it through June, but I like our younger pitchers more than his old arm. Conteras may be a sleeper on this team. His arm seemed to be coming around on the game he hurt the achilles. If he comes out and gives us a couple of months of solid innings I like our chances. I'd really like to see Beckham on this team, I just don't know where they put him now or even in the distant future.

LETS GO WHITE SOX!!

There was finally a chance for baseball discussion, then "nada" had to ruin it by posting. Go away "nada" and let this return to a sports board and not you guy pick up spot. Coward.

Start Beckham in centerfield and bat him lead off in the minors.

If Wise and Anderson stumble perhaps Beckham becomes a viable answer in June.

It's hard to imagine anyone knowing less about anything than you know about baseball.

There's a reason he can't talk baseball. Just be happy you aren't him and laugh at his posts the way anyone with knowledge does.

Unfortunately - you are RIGHT ON.
The Sox will be an interesting team to watch - Getz should be OK - but with a career Minor Leaguer leading off and playing Center (Wise) and with two has been 4&5 Starters (C&C)
we will lose a lot of games 11-6 and 14-4. Ozzie will go bald this year trying to patch things together and if Danks or Floyd go down - it will be a complete disaster. On the bright side - look for a comeback year from McDougal and Konerko. Paulie will go down hitting bigtime with the ship. Look for him to be traded to the Angels for future prospects after Kenny figures out he's two years away. Richard will be sent down to Charlotte first and hopefully Poreda will learn alot like Danks did in 07. 2011 will see the Sox back in the WS. Go Sox.

Hey Mike R...
Wanna bet Wise is a drastic improvement over Swisher?
How can the Sox be "counting on" Colon and Contreras when they have Richard and Poreda waiting in the wings?
Why would the Angels want Konerko and give up two prospects when they have one of the game's top young hitters at 1B and at least six guys in their OF/DH rotation?
A solid spring automatically makes you think Konerko won't be anything like his previous 1,000 at bats?

With that lineup be ready to look up at the twins all year long. .214 lead off hitter have fun. You are making Gomezs troubles last year look like he was doing amazing with a career minor leaguer who is so bad nobody in an independent league would want him.
