DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT IF I SAY THIS IN SPANISH ., OMAR MINAYA IS GOING TO BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND?
This your frault., because if You are a GM., You should know that Delgado was going to need this surgery and he should have that surgery at the end of last season., NOT RIGHT NOW
The Problñem with you is your EGO., and is Your EGO the thing that is killing this Team.
Get a clean up hitter or get a hell out here

This team is, at best, a Triple AAA team. What a long season this one is going to be. Now on to Boston where they will lose the next three games and then the Nationals come in... Tell you what, I hope the Nats beat this sorry team because that will be the ultimate indignation, and perhaps then the Wilpons will wake up and fire the entire baseball administration, starting with Minaya on down to the bullpen coach.

Wasted off season by this stupid racist GM. Could have had Orlando Hudson. Could have signed Blake. Or Derek Lowe!!!! No, we want to re-sign head case Perez! Why? And Delgado. I was for trade him during the off season when his value was high coming off a hot second half. No, we keep him, depending on a 37 year old former steroid user who's going to start breaking down. I hope they lose the next 7 games.

Not without moving Luis Castillo, which couldn't be done. Castillo has been pretty good this season so far.

And he'd play where? You wanna trade David Wright too?

Omar tried to. He got more money and years from Atlanta. Good for him. He definitely won't be winning any rings with the Braves though.

1. Who would have played 1B instead?
2. Steroid user? That's news to me. Got any evidence or do you just make stuff up at random?

In short....this team is screwed. So much for the ball park. It will be empty by August when the Mets aren't even in the picture.

Delgado gone. Reyes going on the DL. No power. No starting pitching. Fenway Park is going to be a slaughter house for the Mets. They won't even come close to winning a ballgame.

Omar Minaya are you listening? It's time to make trades and get things done. This isn't a rebuilding year. You don't make the playoffs....the team gets blown up and you hit the road.

More than anything else, it is the Mets' ongoing miserable performance with RISP that is taking this team down. And, lately, they have managed to worsen this situation with an epidemic of DPs instead of merely popping out or striking out. And it isn't just one or two culprits we're talking about; it's every player in the lineup - Castillo (the worst), Church, Beltran, Murphy, Santos, Castro, Reyes......even newcomer Pagan wasted no time hitting into a killer DP. I say this in all sincerity - these Mets, over the past 2 years, are without question the most abysmal failures in clutch situations than any Mets team since they rose to prominence in '69. This team will not, cannot win a title of any kind because they cannot drive in runs. You don't score, you don't win, simple as that. And, as if to underscore their futility, they remain in the bottom half of the league in homers, an embarrassing status for an alleged contender. In the off-season, Raul Ibanez was talked up excitedly by Mets' brass, saying what a great fit he'd be on this club. What happened? They went with Murphy and eventually got Sheffield and we know what that's gotten us. Meanwhile Ibanez is having an MVP start in the weaker NL. Then there was solid Randy Wolfe, longtime Mets' nemesis, also hanging around on the F/A sale rack for weeks. Mets opt for Perez. This is incompetence of the first degree and yet fans are supposed to remain patient and upbeat. For what? For this assemblage of aging, injury-prone mediocrities? Who's having fun witnessing fundamentally unsound play, ill-advised signings and subsequent lousy results? Are you? We need a sweep alright, and starting in the front office.

The Mets have one of the highest payrolls in baseball. Omar Minaya continually opines the Mets are a contending team capable of winning it all. After collapses the last three years, and the inconsistency of the team so far this year, should Met fans believe in Omar Minaya? Jeff Wilpon bestowed a 4 year extension on the Omar "the Genius." If the Mets continue to flounder, will it be more of fire the manager, changing the coaching staff and sacrificing draft choices for unproductive free agents. Alternatively, will Minaya and Bernazard finally be held accoutable for the folly which has become Mets baseball. The Mets play the Red Sox next take a good look Omar at Dustin Pedroia, Kevin Youkalis, Jon Lester, Jacob Ellsbury and Justin Masterson and ask yourself Omar why the Mets have underachieved. The answer Omar is staring you in the mirror.

Oy the pain. The hell with the September collapse, it's already happening. hey'll be out of it by June if they don't get their heads out of their asses. I know injuries are part of sports, but when you lose Reyes, Cora, Delgado & question marks for positioning & lousy fielding & clutch hitting, you have a recipe for disaster. Lost in the shuffle has been very solid pitching by the starters. Pelf despite 3 balks on Sunday pitched well but no runs in Frisco. Redding gave you 6 solid innings after a bad first. Except for the 3 run homer Maine gave up, he pitched ok & Livan 7 great innings 1 run but nothing to show for it. 3 winnable games turn into 3 horrific losses. This long 6 hour flight to Beantown feels like 16 hours. Now off to face the Sox who will probably sweep them making it 7 straight after winning 7 straight. Even though Johan is pitching Friday he doesn't fare well at Fenway. ithink he's 1-3 with an ERA over 6.00. Of course watch he'll give up 1 run in 7 frames & lose 1-nil the way this offense has suddenly gone cold. Gonna be a long miserable holiday weekend for us Mets fans.

I said it allllllllll off season that Omar needs to sign a big bat because if Delgado, Wright or Beltran gets injured they will be screwed and guess what happened? They are screwed! I blame Omar for continueing to bring in these 36 yr olds has beens who he is trying to catch lightning in a bottle. They have NO I REPEAT NO FARM SYSTEM. Their best pitcher in the minors is Niese who is nutting to brag about. They don't have anyone to bring up for the middle infield except for R Martinez. They don't have a future 1st baseman except hoping the Murphy an do it or a catcher except for Thole who isn't good defensively. I mean come on how bright does the future looks wit this franchise. Omar prides himself in the baseball camp in DR but where are all these young players? This is a joke! If the Mets chokes for a 3rd yr they need to wake up, fire Omar and bring in Billy Beane who is a great talent evaluator but never had the payroll to put a good team yr in and out.
