Thanks, Robert C. It's amazing how quiet all the reports have been when it comes to placing any responsibility on Omar for this lackluster line-up. When I heard that they gave Oliver Perez a 3 year deal for $12 million per, I knew we were going to be in for some worse days ahead (we already had bad days for the last two years).

Ya gotta love player quotes that deftly skirt the real issues. In all the tired, party-line quotes appearing in this piece, not once is the Mets' AAA-caliber SP mentioned. And David Lennon claims that the Mets' losing, despite 6 regulars at .300 and above, defies statistical analysis. Baloney. Stats will clearly show horrendous situational hitting resulting in stranded RISP galore. And stats will further show no extra base production befitting an alleged contender. Essentially, the Mets' typical scoring style is station-to-station baseball. 14th in the NL in HRs and 10th in total bases. In plain English, they stink.

What is Lennon talking about? Batting order changes are the problem? Manuel make a mistake? They scored 8 runs. 8 runs is enough to win 90% of the games in any season. Pitching pitching pitching pitching pitching is the problem. Again.

Really? The lineup didn't perform? You score eight runs, you should win a ballgame. The offense will be fine, but we're not going anywhere if we get one quality pitching start every five days.

I didn't expect Cy Youngs from the 2-5 starters, but I did expect them to be competitive. This better change quick, or we're looking at a lost season.(And no BS about it being a "marathon." The tone is being set for the season now.)

Hi! I'm an idiot! I react to baseball things! It's who I am! Everything is wrong! So wrong! It's not like it used to be! The manager is bad. The players are bad! I want something done! I want something done!

Until starting pitching gets going and batting with RISP gets going it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this team hasn't been going. Better happen soon -- no more Mr.Nice Guy Jerry--or you may be going.

Minaya should be fired. The disappointment of 2006, the two collapses of 2007 and 2008 certainly should have placed him on the endangered species list. Instead, the Mets give him a four year extension. Minaya than signs Tim Redding, Livian Hernandez and resigns Oliver "Sybil" Perez, which he believes upgrades the starting pitching. He allegedly enhances the offense with 40 year Gary Sheffield, moves Murphy an infielder by trade to the outfield. The bullpen is better, it couldn't get much worse but the starting pitching and tired offense are major concerns. This team will not win under Minaya and his sidekick Tony Bernazard. The bigger joke is Jeff Wilpon makes the decisions concernng the baseball operations. A new amd improved Art Howe should be hired any day now.

Time for Manuel to go! Too much talent on this team for them to be in this situation. Its a manager problem when he can't set up a batting order that brings in runs that are now being left on base. Shake things up Now, from top to bottom.
