Plain and simple, the Mets better start hitting with men on base. I keep hearing David Wright's name, but what about others who can't drive runs in. The Mets had plenty of opprotunity in the 7th and 8th innings and could not get more runs across. And I don't want to hear that it is early. Losing counts just as much now, as later in the season. Manuel better get these guys more batting practice or something, because if he doesn't, it will be a long season.

ZERO plate discipline!!!

How many times are we going to see a Met come up to the plate after the guy before him was walked on 4 pitches and swing at the first pitch?!?!

David Wright is NOT a clutch player.

And, how many runners are they going to leave on base?! So far they've left 100 men on base in 12 games!!!!!!

Manuel needs to make a few lineup changes and accept a couple of facts

Beltran and Wright need to change places in the lineup at least against right handed pitching. Between Delgado and Church the integrity of the lineup will be preserved

It's time to accept the fact that Ryan Church needs to be your everyday right fielder. When healthy he's proven to be a valuable and clutch
hitter and he's an outstanding defensive right fielder. Playing
Sheffield against a right hand pitcher in Citi field makes no baseball sense whatsoever. I can understand letting him play against Jamie Moyer and Cole Hamels in Phillie but otherwise he should just be used off the bench

Year after year with the METS-they don't hit with RISP. This has been the weakness of this team for many years, yes, I said many years. It looks as if this is an 85 win team, at best-not good enough. Last week I posted that maybe Manuel isn't the man for this team. Am I wrong? This does not excuse their lousy hitting! This is a major funadmental flaw with this team and I don't think it can be fixed with this manager. Can you imagine Lou Pinella putting up with this?

After reading the article word-by-word (I admit it was a strain on my small brain), I am stunned that grown men in major league baseball making millions of dollars make nothing but excuses for themselves. This is totally disgusting. They seem to have the attitude well we did this and then we did that, and that didn't work, and this didn't work, etc.-YOU GUYS ARE BUMS AND LOUSY AT MAKING EXCUSES-A TWO YEAR OLD CAN DO BETTER WHEN THEIR HAND IS IN THE COOKIE JAR! losers-losers-losers!(now all you Met fans can get on me if you want, but I am one of you and if you want to pamper these bums -go right ahead-there will be a lot of empty seats with this going on.)

Clearly the most overrated ballplayer of our time. Any and all that deny this are blinded by their love for him and are not watching his at-bats

this is great,I really thought this season would be a repeat of past years - the mets will be average then go on a hot streak, and then fold like they always do. But now they have no pitching after santana. But metie fans want to see the new park so they will go and have thier noses rubbed in what a bad team this is, madoff made a bigger impact on the mets then all the spanish players for omars latin american all stars

What I can't understand is why the sports writers and commentators are in the tank for this team. Every year most of them pick them to win the NL East and every year they tank. I know the answer and it is: they pick the winners and losers based on the roster on paper-they don't actually watch them play.
