Is Jerry a slow learner? He should have had enough time with all of his position players (except for the newcomers Sheffield, Reed Santos and Pagan) to know them by now. He seems to be the last to realize that Murphy is not an outfielder but an infielder. If it wasn't for Delgado's injury and Reed's game ending miscue, Murphy would still be misjudging fly balls in left field. By the way, does Jerry know that you can dustyget a run home by bunting with runners on second and third with less than two outs?

You mean there are notes that he used when this bunch of counterfeit ballplayers went 0 for 10 with RISP in LA? Who knew? I never would have guessed that you actually used statistics and historical data to go 0-10 with RISP. I bet no notes exist. I suspect what he really does, is sneak behindd the dugout and throws darts at a darboard-it would serve him just as well and produce the same results as a cerebral decision.
what notes? if you peak at his piece of paper, you'd see a lot of mickey mouse drawings on it. i've seen him play tic tac toe with his bench coach once on a boring game and they were losing 10-0.

He thought the throw was going to home. He got the rbi on the play seeing as the runner scored before he was tagged out. Had no problem with the play. Was not due to a lack of hussle.

Studying??? Learning?!

What, is this some folksy way of saying "I'm still young and doing my best?!"

What an insult to Mets fans.

This man should know his team in and out and be able to name every blade of grass at Fenway Park!!! And you want to know why?! Because he is being paid millions and millions of dollars to manage a band of millionaire ballplayers.

What sort of human interest garbage is this?!

You make the money that this man makes you have to eat, drink, sleep, shoot and sh'1/t baseball!

If the Mets and Jerry Manuel value themselves this little that "studying" still seems to be the thing to do, then may I suggest finding some people who are willing to work for a living.

The Mets, baseball in general and the people of New York deserve better than this.

Not more to add to these comments. However I think Manuel is stupid to let Lennon write about his tactics for figuring out how we makes his decisions. Doubt that the other managers are doing it this way. Jerry you're only as good as your guys are playing do you really know what your guys can do? next you're going to manage by laptop.

Somebody tell me again why REYES is better than JETER...Reyes is in the league 7 years - aint won SQUAZOOL! JETER won 6 pennants & 4 world series in his first 7 years....yeah, "REYES is a five-tool player", but he aint got heart, he aint got a brain, and he aint got no BALLLS! Can't wait til they trade him to the ROYALS...

Ok, you'll only hear it this weekend only! Let's Go Yankees! You help us out & we'll help you...How painful it is to say that! My loathe for the Phils clearly outweighs any feelings towards the Yanks...
Although as a Yankee fan I don't hate the Sox but they are the competition so go Mets! I do hate the Dodgers and wanted the Mets to kick them around a little as well so Lets go Mets is something you'll hear from me a few times a year! Hopefully the Yanks will return the favor vs the Phils!
Enjoy the games!

THEY ARE THE GUYS IN CHARGE, MINAYA IS JUST A PUPPET (CASE IN POINT: MANNY ). AS MET FANS LETS NOT GET TOO EXCITED, IT JUST AINT GOING TO HAPPEN THIS YEAR. WE ARE THE LAUGHING STOCK OF BASEBALL.

I'm not a Mets fan but isn't it kind of early to be giving up??? They've only played about 1/4 of their schedule!!! Try to enjoy the games and hope for the best. That's really all that the fans of any team can do because anything can and usually does happen! It's a long season!
