i'm convinced the orioles want to have spring training at a middle school somewhere in western north carolina. vero each would be a perfect st-up but i'm sure angelos wants the city to offer everything for free to the orioles. why is it only the orioles haven't had a permanent spring training site for yrs.

Vero Beach Mayor Tom White said: "There was a bunch of [issues] on there. Some of them opened my mouth, and I went,'Huh? They want what?' "
Angeloser is such a cheap troll; he has one of the most profitable teams in MLB but he is cheaper than cheap! I wish for the days of EBW!

"""Arbitration- eligible this winter, the 27-year-old would have made between $3 million and $4 million in 2009, so the team cut him loose."""
I guess he can take positive note of making the major league minimum somewhere else for a 5.50 era.

Unless it's clear that Cabrera has arm problems (velocity fell off last season), giving up on him is a bad move.

BPP! get over this uncoordinated lard a$$!

United States

#11 Dec 15, 2008 was not capable of coordination without repititious practice which he refused-could not field his position, could not hit or bunt, could not control his delivery in order to throw strikes. he is gifted by his size and arm strength but will never progress because he refuses to accept that practice can overcome his lack of coordination. he could have been terrific.

Gene Brabender--I remember you as a bit short of coordination yourself, falling out of a boat in shallow water and almost drowning.

I believe you did pass on though at the age of 55. So, God bless your soul, and thank you for some good innings you gave the Birds.

Yeah even with their need for starting pitching this is the right move, he had no control whatsoever and had five years to "get" it, it would just be the same thing from him in 09. Both Cabrera and the team needed to part ways.

If you mean "Cabrera" the answer to your question would be zero.

Leo Mazzone was fired because he was a coupled entry with the dismissed Sam Perlozzo and when he stayed with the team following Sam's departure, his contributions were limited to sitting on the bench, not talking to Dave Trembley, and not bothering to talk to his pitchers.
