Rob Oller commentary: Reds need a forgetful Cordero

The rub of it for Reds closer Francisco "Coco" Cordero is that his ability to forget does not match our ability to remember. Full Story

For 16 million a year - we DO expect at least a few 1, 2, 3 innings!! That's not too much to ask for - and "yes" he may get the saves but 6 blown saves is quite a bit for 16 million a year!! Overpaid BIG TIME!

I'm ok with the leadoff double yesterday. At least he is throwing the ball over the plate when that happens. I'm NOT ok when he walks the first couple batters giving the opposing team the tying or winning run at the plate with no outs. It's like he hasn't warmed up and has to walk the first two batters to find the plate. He is getting way too much money to be a closer for those types of performances. When they have to bring in Masset in to close the closer, it's not really working. I hope he gets his crap together coming into crunch time for a playoff run.

IF the Reds make the playoffs, Cordero will be their downfall. If they don't make the playoffs, it will be because of a blown save or two down the stretch.

Nice to see Homer Bailey not pitch like a homer yesterday.

I propose they place a batter in the bullpen so CoCo can walk that guy before he comes in for the 9th. I'll volunteer.

Haha...that is hilarious. Good idea. Hopefully he can turn it around and start coming in with some thunder.
