I think its time to clean house. Mets fans deserve better than this, especially after last Sept. I'm tired of cliche after cliche.

Just win -- nuff said.

All the quotes I keep reading from the players on this sorry team is that they're "too good to keep losing like this." Well, guess what, you're not that good. The Mets have to stop thinking they're great team that has to play average to win, and start realizing they're an average team that has to play great to win.

Why are all these posts being deleted? We fans can't vent?

This team sucks. How the hell have people not been fired yet? The entire coaching staff shouldn't have a job this morning.

Wilpons don't give a shit about this team.

Last nights game typlifies exactly what this team is all about. Staked to a 5-1 lead as they Phillie is losing. Great oppotunity to gain the ground they are talking about. So what do they do? blow the lead (as usual). Ok, no problem. Just come back from the rain delay and take care of business. Oh look at that the Phillies lost, let go. So what do they do? LAY A EGG!!!(So what did you expect to happen)? Clutchless team. Why is it that I feel that when the mets have a 4 or 5 run lead you know it's just a matter of time before they give it up. And if they do win they struggle to do so. But if the opposition has a 2 or 3 run lead, no matter what inning the game is over. Again, clutchless, heartless team. Bye-bye, see you next year.(Maybe)

Mets fans deserves a lot better than this. This team is too old and most of them cant play anymore. When is Wilphon going to fire Willie, Minaya and Peterson? Wally Backman should be the new manager. He will get these guys to play hard.
If these guys stays I will try hard not to watch the Mets anymore.

Roderick-you should write an article about the pitching this year and the runs allowed with 2 outs and/or when they have 2 strikes against them.

I know the Mets lead the league in most runs given up in 8th inning, but it always seems like other teams get their runs when there is 2 outs and/or with 2 strikes. That and the ablity not to score runs with 2 outs is one of the reason we continue to lose.

Why do I stay interested in the Mets at this point? I guess it's like the proverbial train-wreck -- you want to look away but you can't take your eyes off of it.

If you are a Met fan you know that The Wilpons are not going to hire Wally Backman as Manager because of his troble with the law.

I think the mets need a change now.
What willie is running? a Day Care
center? If pedro pitch over 100 in his return why a 24year old kid can
go 120-130? May be he has Babys
players no mayor leaguers Sorry
Willie but you have to go.

When will changes be made?

It's been over a year of sub .500 ball, what do they need to be convinced that these players will not get it done. Many don't deserve to be around anymore. Give them their canes and walkers and send the senior citizens on their way.

Most of all FIRE OMAR, this is his mess. It's obvious he hired people based on the fact that they are Latin. Other teams knew enough to stay away from 40 year old players.

"We've got too good a team to just keep losing like this," said starter John Maine"

No...this is a below average team. The pieces are not working.

The Wilpons are going to limp into Citi Field with this mess of a team.

The Mets can fire Randolph and fire Minaya but the problem will still be there - the Wilpons. Father Fred should have conducted an exhaustive search for Steve Phillips' replacement, instead he hired Minaya practically begged him to take the job. Prior to this blunder, father Fred hired Art Howe, whom he said "lit up the room." Art Howe couldn't light up a room with a match and kersoene. The Mets need a total overhaul of their organization. The Wilpons should hire an independent consultant to evaulate all aspects of the baseball operation. Terry Ryan, ex Twins G.M. would be a good choice. They need to draft and develop their own players by using instead of abusing their farm system. Until they change how they conduct their business, Freddie and the Dreamers will not be serious contenders for anything.

Why is Perez the #2 starter? He's lucky to be a #2 starter on most AAA teams and he's only good with an offense behind him. Just like Glavine was. Why throw a lefty, Perez, after one of the best lefties in Baseball. Why is John Maine #4 still. Even after Pedro went down and everyone moved up but Maine? Plus minor leaguers were put ahead of Maine. Omar that's why. Much like steinbrenner Omar controls his manager. If Omar gets another manager the new manager will not tolerate the "favoritism" decisions from Omar. Decisions that are having a negative affect. John Maine is the second best pitcher on the team. Period. Yes better than Pedro and I believe that Maine should have #2 from the start.

Maine came out of spring training with the most K's and the lowest ERA in the entire National League! More than the coveted Santana, Pedro and Perez.

Until Omar is gone we will never see the play-offs.

Yes ,the time is now before the all-star break ,get a head start and get some unknowns that want to play baseball. These guys are pathetic, they can't hit a change-up or fast ball while the other teams knock the crap out of every fast ball the Mets throw. I will say one thing though they hit the ball solidly right at the other teams players especially in the infield .Come on Willie don't make tonight your swan song ,light a fire under these guys and you too.I'm sick of spending 2 or 3 hours watching these games when you have a lead and you wait till the pitcher is being raked over the coals and the game is out of reach ,then you yank him .That is stupid managing ,when you see he hasn't got it go get him, don't send Peterson out for a friendly chat and you leave the guy in for 1 or 2 more hitters and then you have men on base for the relief pitcher who gives up a hit or two "game over" Willie your making this team the laughing stock of the league .I wish Omar and the Wilpons read these talk back writings ,then they know how thw fans feel and support them. NO MAS OMAR !!
