The Phillies and players like Ryan Howard can't do steroids as easily now unlike the 2008 season which was basically the last 'easy' year to juice up. That's why Howard lost weight and has injury problems, the extra weight stressed his body parts and sped the healing of what were little nagging injuries are know full blown problems without the juice. He hasn't learned to train correctly including flexibility and strength(not power) training. Same for several other players. Throw in the fact they were stealing signals they must beat good teams straight up.

Fire Manuel, trade Howard and others for actual single hitters. Get rid of the strikeout kings.

Similar problems have plagued the Yankees as well. No more juice or not enough juice with more scrutiny.

You can fire the manager, get rid of Howard or do what ever you want. The problem they ran into was a Cardinal team that has played as well or better than anyone in both leagues. It sure didn't hurt that Carp pitched two great games. If the cards would have had Wainright all year they might have won a hundred games. I also have to thank the Phils for helping the Cards get in so we could beat their asses. That was great of them. BTW Howard is so over rated it is pathetic. He strikes out as much as Reggie Jackson and Dave kingman did. Hell any decent hitter would have had 100 RBI with the team he has in front of him. FYI I know how it feels though, our .500 team that won the wild card won the World Series and our team that won over a hundred games didn't. Records don't mean shit. They are all even when the playoffs start and that is all that matters. It's just who is playing the best at the time and it looks like the Cards right now!

Let this be a lesson to never believe the so-called "experts" with ESPN.
