Another team effort and big win! I hope they can keep things going a bit longer but being realistic, they have to lose at some point. I was hoping to be 15 over .500 at the break but just 1 of the next 3 would send them to the break at +16.

It's a shame all these "big" wins against the teams they always beat don't mean jack come October. Enjoy it when you can Yank fans, it will end bitterly as it has for the last 8 years.

At least you're hoping and praying it will! A little jealous perhaps????? You'd give anything to have your Mets just make the playoffs! Actually, this year it seems you just might be satisfied with a September choke!
1986 and counting!
Can they 3peat??? Only if they rally between now and September!

wah wah another crying mets fan maybe if you had some depth you would be doing better the yankees have depth and a farm system something the mets have neither of. there triple A and double A teams are horrendous.
real smart going into the season with murphy and tatis as your outfielders instead of getting abreu, dunn, or ibanez
face it minaya hasnt a clue when it comes to being a gm
you mets fans make up excuses about injuries every team has injuries we were a mess in the beginning without arod, both our catchers, our set up man, nady out but we perservered because of a good bench something the mets dont have.
and besides the mets were a .500 team with beltran, delgado, and reyes anyway so does it really matter

51 wins so far and they still have a series to play against the Angels before the All Star break. Not bad for a team that many were criticizing not very long ago. They are playing well, and playing together, which bodes well for the rest of the season, if the starting pitching (especially Sabathia, Burnett and Pettite, who each have 8 wins thus far) holds up.

Well last season they did loose Posada (the catcher for 110 games), Matsui (the left fielder for 40 games, A-rod (the 3rd baseman for 37 games) and Wang (their ace for half the season), and Hughes (another starting pitcher for 2/3 of the season and nagging injuries that kept Damon, Cano and Cabrerra out of the line-up for various games...and you know what, they finished the season with EXACTLY the SAME amount of wins as Los Mets who did not loose a significant player to injury in all of 2008. By the way your right the Yanks do have a $200 million payroll and not only are we hoping to make the playoffs we will...unlike your pathatic team with their $160 million payroll which if their not careful will end up in LAST place in the awful National League East.

This might be going back aways, but the Yanks won the 1978 world series without their starting first baseman (chambliss), second baseman (randolph), and centerfielder (rivers). It's called having depth. Spencer, Doyle, combo of Thomason/johnstone stepped up and the Yanks won in 6. You can look it up.

You're wasting your time trying to discuss or explain anything to that moron. He knows very little if anything about the game and will never learn anything because he's too busy shooting off his big mouth with moronic comments and predictions!

You pitiful puddle of slime...lmfao!!!...this is all you can write because you are either a Met fan or a (now tied for first place) Red Sox fan.

The Yankees are on a tear like no one's business. 14 or their last 16.

The hapless Mets are headed to the cellar. It's only getting worse and worse for those silly Puerto Ricans...

And the Red Sox - as anyone with a brain and ability to speak English or Spanish knows - are not able to sustain their winning ways.

Boston lost to KC, you sickly adolesent.

The allstar break couldn't have come at a better time for the Red Sox...and their fans...who like you, you sad sack of fertilizer...are praying to the lord all mighty that the Yankees will cool off.

Sorry, wanker, the Yankees have gotten their act together and their stellar past two weeks are only a sign of things to come...like a 27th ring.

Eat sh/1 t, silly f!@g got.

The Mess and their $160 million payroll could have had Ibanez, Abreau and Hudson for just a little more then they're paying but chose to invest the extra cash with Madoff. Sucks for them but more so for their fans!

Another nice win today and we're back to being even with the Sox. If Hughes keeps pitching the way he does maybe we can put all talk of Joba back in the pen to rest and groom Hughes as the next closer to succeed Mo.

Hey KittyKat, how is John Smoltz looking so far? Do you think Uncle Tito will put him on a long leash?
When is that stud, Dice K coming back
(most Blow Sox hope never), and the bullpen seems to be springing a leak as well. Bring on the BlowSox in August my friend (use that loosely).
Did you notice they blew a 4-0 lead to the Royals last night, now that is very difficult to do!

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Scorpio

You're in a very romantic and sentimental state today. You're also feeling quite sensitive and vulnerable, so you won't want to be around anyone you find abrasive or aggressive. If you meet someone for the first time now you'll think they're wonderful and your relationship will always involve putting them on a pedestal. But don't be too idealistic. They are human, remember!
