Well thought out article. It's tough in the majors. The credit goes to Jim Hendry and Lou Piniella for putting it all together.

Thank and praise the LORD there is no sammmmmmmme 'self-destruct' sosa. I have never had as much fun watching the Cubs as I have this year and this is in spite of my being in the outfield in the middle of too many cardinal fans during The Sandburg game 'just a few years ago'.

Every time the Cubbies win a weak Division, it's the same. All the HOPE, then the reality the GOAT brings. The meltdown will come. Watch.

it was a nice article, but why are we glorifying the simple fact that the Cubs made the playoffs. Shouldn't they make the playoffs? With a team like this, shouldn't we be expecting them to make the playoffs? "Roberto Novoa stood tall and was ready to bear down, but his shoulder wouldn't allow him to ..." he's a relief pitcher, not an oncologist trying to cure cancer. It's nice that the Cubs came out on top of a lousy division and they did it with true Cubbie feel (almost losing the damn thing), but maybe we shouldn't celebrate "getting there" so much as we need to celebrate winning and the Cubs need to win now.

Cubs lost 96 games last yr. and they make playoffs this year. That in itself is a great accomplishment. What's so strange is the longer the Cubs go without a World Series win,the more Cub fans there are.Seems to work just the opposite with White Sox.

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Aquarius

Diplomacy is your middle name today, so make the most of it while it lasts. It will be just what you need if you've been waiting for the right time to raise a tricky topic with you-know-who, and it will also come in handy if you're caught up in a potentially sensitive conversation with someone and you want to extricate yourself as smoothly as possible.
