Crain is the only one I would have given up on.
Maybe we can include him in the trade with the Padres. Perkins and Crain for Kouzmannoff and a minor leaguer.

Liriano might be done. He pitched poorly and was mentally out of it for much of the season. Package him and Perkins for Kouzmannoff.

The Twins most pressing need remains: a starting pitcher that can serve as the ace of the staff. Halladay & Lackey are unattainable so who is left? Well, it appears that Washburn & Bedard are the most likely candidates. Either would be a good signing to lead the rest of the rotation of Blackburn, Baker, Slowey, Pavano. That pitching staff is an improvement over last season and keeps the Twins from rushing minor league potential.

I'd put 3rd base as a higher priority. If our rotation could stay healthy it's pretty decent. We are not getting an Ace in Free Agency. Too Much $$$$$. Boston gave Lackey $85 mil.(not worth it) over 5 years. I don't see the Twins busting the bank for a "pretty good" starter.

Why give up on Crain? During the stretch run, Crain was reliable and the bullpen turned out to be a strength. I wouldn't be quick to dump any of those guys, especially since Boof was traded and Neshek is just coming back from surgery.

Wow more mediocre signings. Could be 2011 Central Division Champs again woo hoo! Then lose in first round of playoffs. Twins should adopt new ad campaign "Minnesota Twins; Commitment to Mediocrity". I regress, the Twins will not make the playoffs playing on the grass instead of the turf. They can't compete without the baggie.
