THe "little streak" that Louuie sees will be the streak on his undergarments when the Cubs proceed to
"crap out" like a certain tourist in a cheap suit and bad toupee whose fortunes turn in Reno |

I'll state the obvious: this road trip is the most important 9-game stretch of the year. Win 6 or 7 games and the rest of the season will play out okay, assuming the Cubs and Brewers split their 6 games. Maybe Cub fans will look back at that 5-game losong streak and say: I'm sure glad they had their team slump at the beginning of September and not in October.

What the hell does anyone from Virginia know about baseball? I thought all they did there was sit on their porch, play banjo and admire each other's purdee mouths.

I hope Piniella has finally gotten over his Howry delusion. Howry is stealing money. I love Lou, but there is one thing that he does not seem to have addressed: having pitchers develop reasonable moves to first. Is this something you have to discuss with their mothers nowadays?? Too late this year, but next spend some time on pickoff moves, slide-stepping, and learning to hold the runner. Otherwise, he gets an A in my book.
