Bruney needs to work on his delivery

Full story: Newsday

The funniest part about that quote, of course, is that Brian Bruney started this war with Francisco Rodriguez by doing the exact opposite.

K-ROD is a punk and always has been. Bruney was right. These pitchers who pump their fist after every out should be called out. You don't see Mo or Trevor Hoffman doing that sh*t. Love these guys who act like they want to fight, but make sure that they have a teammate there to "hold me back". Bruney should have just popped him or asked to duke it under the stands like a man.

Bruney was absolutely 100% right about Rodriguez. He is a punk and his act is very tired. The fact that Bruney let him have his say is admirable because I'm quite sure that Brian Bruney would eat Francisco Rodriguez for lunch. Maybe this will make him tone down his act a bit and grow up. Kudos to Bruney for calling a spade a spade.

Speaking of Dennis Eckersley, that was and is a tired act yesteryear AND today!

Holy Yankee fan bias mazzu and Sherman. K-Rod has earned the right to do whatever he wants. It's not like he only does this when he gets a save. He does this when it's a tie game. He has always celebrated and he always will. K-Rod admits to it. Get over it already. Brian Bruney is lucky K-Rod didn't smack him in the face. He probably should've bent him over his knee. Who is Brian Bruney?

People who live in glass houses shouldn't walk around naked. Before Bruney rips K-Rod for his antics perhaps Brian should inward and have a nice talk with Joba. Big difference between all the histrionics closing out a game and closing out the fifth inning.

Yanks got the last laugh... K-Rod blows first save of season Friday (not all his fault; bad defense directly led to loss; but he's responsible for putting Yankees on base in the first place), got the job done Saturday; when given a redemption opportunity; but only after another mini-adventure; and NO chance yesterday as Mets couldn't get out of their own way....(I think that was the Nationals in there a couple days early... The "real" Nationals actually played decently on Sunday @ Tampa Bay Rays...)

Santana and the Mets sure gave NY their latest rendition of their "worst effort/game of the year" to date! Ugh-ly!

I am a Yankee fan and I can care less what Krod does on the mound. I remember when he was a rookie with the Angels and he destroyed them. The guy is good, if not great reliever. Baseball needs more characters so Krod keep doing what your doing. Of course I will hate you every time you do it against the Yankees.

Let's see bruney call out fist pumping Joba, you know that won't happen. Bruney has no business calling out anyone until he has been around a while...

but is he right? shouldn't that be answered as well. K-Rod had his first pumped in the air even before the out was made. Prematured to think is was an automatic out. He then shamelessly walks off the mount with his head down. it is a tried act. Players need to respect the game. What's next, posing after an easy catch like Bradley did, not knowing that there was just one out. What a moran.

K Rod's celebrations are indeed ridiculous and an embarassment. Yeah, Joba's aren't my cup of tea either. Humility is a lost art. I think it may be a generational thing. I mean...how many times are we going to see the mad hysteria at the plate in a walk off...in season??? Shouldn't the glee fest be saved for big games...playoff games...??

one poster said 'he can do what he wants, he's earned it". all he's earned is big $$$. its everything thats wrong in sports today. Show up your opponent ... Besides if K-Rod had to bat you can bet he wouldn't say or do anything.

What quote, Jim? It's the first sentence of the article and I'm already lost. Do you mean the headline? Because that's neither a "quote", nor "funny". What would be the "exact opposite" of working on one's delivery? Was Bruney was practicing his receiving?
