They just won 10 out of 11 and then have an off nite, your a joke. Stop printing this crap newsday.

Wally,
You remind me of the A-hole sports writers in the movie "61" |

I was wondering when was the next time we'd get to see another Pulitzer Prize worthy piece from Wally! It's been awhile, but wonderful to have you back!! Though I am somewhat disappointed that you wrote this entire article, but failed to include one of your signature oh so witty Beltran insults.
But back on topic, screw David Wright and Jose Reyes...some "MVPs" right? I mean we are down by 5 runs and those guys just decide that they don't want to get hits. If they cared about winning and wanted to be there clearly they would have had 4 hits and 5 RBI a piece and the Mets won have won this thing easy. Maybe we can trade Reyes for Rollins and Wright for Pavano, those guys are winners |

you act like a 2 year old!

You're an embarrassment to journalism. The team is 8-2 over their last 10 games. Every team has an off day every once in a while. I'd be perfectly happy if the Mets can continue to win 8 out of every 10 games.

I actually wanted to go to this game, but the LIRR has the main line all screwed up this weekend, and the Mets have their parking lot screwed up all year.

try harder wally. and also try being less transparent.

Is this guy serious? Ten wins in last twelve games and this is what you come up with? Wally wins the award for dumbest article of the year...

If I were Tiki Barber, I'd have a choice word or two here.

The first sentence just made the "Wallace" hates the Mets so true.... How do you still get paid for this crap.
There are very talented people looking for work and this jerkoff still collects a pay check? Where is the justice |
You're worse than I thought, Wally.

YAY! The Mets lost a game! Now I have something to write about. Um, Suzyn, can I have a rain check? I'll shave your legs another night!

Dear Mr. Matthews,
Even the biggest Yankee fan (me) can't stand listening to you rag on the Mets (who, by the way, have won 10 of their last 12) because their starting pitcher had a bad night and they couldn't put hits together. You remind me of the SF Giant-loving Chris Russo, except he didn't hate on NY teams every chance he got - merely when it was convenient. Braves fan, maybe? How about Phillies? Your hapless drivel in my local newspaper degrades its readers and insults us. Please do the world a favor and volunteer for the Crash Test Dummy Corps, or better yet, just retire already. Signed, The Biggest Yankee Fan (still me) |

Is this guy serious? They won 8 of their last 10 games and he's ripping them apart over one bad loss??? I guess the Amazin's would need to go undefeated over 160 games in order for Mathew's to show some support. Are we supposed to come back from every early inning deficit?? This is just sad...
Uh... Wally... get your facts straight. With the exception of last night, John Maine's pitched okay since he got back from the DL.
they lose 1 game out of how many wins - and you come up with this garbage? go back to writing about boxing. geez. who is the spots editor over there? a monkey?

The whole point of articles like this is to get people mad. It's a standard newspaper trick, and you all fell for it, again.

"WALLACE MATTHEWS IS IN GEORGE'S BOX AND WALLACE MATTHEWS IS COMIN' BACK. OH MY GOOD--GOODNESS GRACIOUS! OF ALL THE DRAMATIC THINGS--OF ALL THE DRAMATIC THINGS I'VE EVER SEEN, WALLACE MATTHEWS STANDING RIGHT IN GEORGE STEINBRENNER'S BOX ANNOUNCING HE IS BACK! WALLACE MATTHEWS IS A NEW YORK YANKEE! AND THERE WE GO JOHN, YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WHO'S GOING TO TAKE THAT SPOT IN THE ROTATION. YOU SHOULD SEE WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE YANKEE DUGOUT! BIG GRIN ON JORGE POSADA'S FACE! Thisguy is an internet troll with a column in a major paper. Newsday should be ashamed. His only function is to irritated with baseless facts. I love the line about Maine taking them out of games early lately. Maine hadn't given up upo more than three runs in a game for a month. He only gave up 3 once. Depth has been a problem, but not getting them out of the game.
