Champs Again! Red Sox Sweep World Series

There's a new monster in baseball, and this one's in Boston, too. Overwhelming in every way, the Red Sox swept to their second title in four years Sunday night.

I'm happy. I'm glad the Rockies were in the World Series, but I know they'd be no match against Boston. Naturally I rooted for Boston.!

To be honest with you I believe that the recent world series have been a bust. World series ratings for recent years have been very low and for good reason. The 2007 world series hit a record low in ratings, only surpassed by the poor 2006 world series. One of the reasons is that there have been three world series sweeps in the last 4 years, the one that was not a sweep was only 5 games which was in 2006, this world series holds the record for lowest ratings. Add to that the teams that have hosted recent world series aren't exactly exiting teams. The last great world series that there has been was in 2001, Yankees vs Diamondbacks(one of the most memorable World series in general), the 2002 world series was decent at best just because it featured the giants and it went to 7 but that is it.....hopefully the world series in 2008 features a better matchup and more competitive.
