There used to be a time in the late 1980s and the early 1990s when the Yankees were getting spurned by big time free agents like Greg Maddux and Barry Bonds. It didn’t matter how much money the Yankees threw at them, they were too scared of George Steinbrenner and the media. Then players like Jimmy Key and Paul O’Neil decided to go where no man had gone and they gave the Yankees hope again. Since then every free agent's dream has become to be a Yankee and George has mellowed out. However, the media has gotten out of control. The media has resorted to treating players like Lindsay Lohan and they are writing a lot of garbage on these papers. The amount of crap that A-Rod has received from the media will have been noted by potential free agents and if we let this trend continue we will be placed right back in the 80s. Think about it for a minute: A-Rod’s family have to be careful with what t-shirts they wear. A-Rod’s friendship with Jeter can’t ease up, they have to hang out like they did when they were teenagers. A-Rod can’t get his groove on with a blonde. I mean, he received more coverage for that blonde chick, than Bill Clinton did when he abused Monica Lewinsky with that cigar!!!! And then, to top it all off, a writer like MIKE LUPICA will write an article, like he did yesterday, singling us, the fans, as one of the reasons why it’s not worth it for A-Rod to come back. These are the same gullible fans that he stirred up with his sh**ty articles. Talk about being stabbed in the back!! But the problem is that we are too easily influenced. If Mike wrote that A-Rod was hanging out with Al Queda, then the next day we would be out there chanting Al-Queda!!! We have to stop being so gullible and we have to start voicing out against these media clowns or before you know it, we will be back in the 80s only attracting the Danny Tartabulls of the world. And if you really can’t help being this gullible, then at the very least, let me be your psychic. Because, I realized that many of the customers that these psychics can continue to get rich off of, are here. And if you think John Edwards can cross over and speak to your loved ones, then I can cross over and shake hands with them.

How can the New York Yankees advance to the play-offs? Easy. Just make sure that George ("Boss") Steinbrenner is in attendance. The Boss has attended two games, so far, that the Yankees have played, and they won BOTH of them. Opening Day, on April 2nd, at Yankee Stadium (with Carl Pavano as the starting pitcher, no less!); and last night's game in St. Petersburg, Florida, against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. The same Tampa Bay Devil Rays that they beat on Opening Day. So, if we can get "The Boss" to attend the final 76 games that the Yanks have on their schedule, we'll be IN the play-offs!

Well said, Fire Mike Lupica. The liberal press continues to try to control everyone's thoughts and emotions. I sounded off in very similar fashion yesterday about the over paid, never played the game PHONIES who write these ridiculous columns. Watch the games and form your own opinions about the players on your favorite team and around the league. Chances are, the average fan knows the game a lot better then the jerks writing the nonsense. Lupica has always hated the Yankees but who care what that twerp likes.

Two words: Caps Lock.

Yes, unfortunately, the schedule doesn't work THAT way.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Leo

You're in a very idealistic mood today, making it almost impossible for you to view loved ones in their true colors. If they've got any faults you won't see them because you'll have blanked them out. This rosy vision of your nearest and dearest is fine if it doesn't last long but it will cause problems if it persists and you continue to brush any problems under the carpet.
