It's not too soon to be thinking about 2008. Roger ("Rocket") Clemens will be "retired," again, and Andy Pettitte and Mike Mussina will both be a year older. As this article points out, it's not just Phil Hughes who is considered the FUTURE of the New York Yankees, it's also Joba Chamberlain, Alan Horne, Michael Gardner and Ian Kennedy. Get used to hearing about THOSE names, because you're going to be hearing a LOT about them, soon. The Yankee "Kiddie Corps."

They already HAVE one: Chien-Ming Wang.

Chien-Ming Wang
Phil Hughes
Joba Chamberlain
Alan Horne
Ian Kennedy

Sounds like a starting rotation, if you ask me.

You're right on the money Barry. I wouldn't be surprised to have Pettite back either. He's pitched well with just a couple of bad starts. He's started and gone at least 6 innings in 6 games the team has won. Don't listen to that jerk KAT. He's just a sh*t stirrer who has limited knowledge of the game but wants to play with the big boys.

Sounds like someone banking on AA-ball stats to translate into major league victories. Wang is the real deal, Hughes looks like it (1-1 MLB record) and the others haven't yet faced the likes of Morneau, Ortiz, Ramirez, Ichiro or even banjo-hitting Julio Lugo.

Not really. I think before that can happen, the press needs to go on strike and a manager needs to be fired. I'm ok with the first part, not the 2nd and George is too old to push the Yanks like he did in 78.
