It is going to happen. A big stick is needed to protect A-Rod in the line up.

The fans were to hate Steve Sax, Wade Boggs, Johnny Damon and Roger Clemens too. Once they produced, they were cheered.

Manny or Tex.....must have one or the other.

Just keep purchasing pennants, Yankees!
It's gonna be fun to watch them not make the playoffs again next season after this year's attempts to buy another pennant.

Boo hoo. Buying more players.

Each GM has the job to use the resources available to them from ownership to put the best team possible on the field. Then it is up to the players and coaching staff to win.

Instead of bashing the Yankees, how about getting on your own team to do the same? Too many owners don't loosen their own purse strings to sign better players.

You're right, Chuckie...
The Yankees should be buying up everybody they can.
It's always fun to watch them not be able to win, though.

Its more fun to watch the White Sux lose in the crappy AL Central. Another drought in Chicago is in the forecast.

The White Sox are coming off a playoff year and one they didn't purchase.
The Yankees are coming off a non-playoff year and one that they purchased.
They are trying to purchase another title next year, but they will end up just not making the playoffs once again.

The White Sux will win another World Series in about 80 years. That is the Vegas line: 80.

I'm betting the over.

Who else are the Yankees supposed to be purchasing this offseason?
Anyone else?
Manny?
Why don't they just purchase the Tampa Bay Rays and pull some of their players out so they don't beat up on the Yankees so badly this year?

Both Boston and Tampa will easily beat out the Yankees this year once again.

I have no beef with the White Sox, as they did make the playoffs last year. Because I don't have a favorite team, I don't let jealousy get in the way of rational thought.

I do, however, laugh when I see anyone get disgruntled about the Yankees offseason. I mean, really? Would you like to see the White Sox go out and intentionally not do all they can do to win a world series? What did you expect them to do? In fact, until Pettitte signs, the Yankees are actually under their payroll for last year.

So what is the big deal about this year? Is it because you couldn't land CC or Teixeira because Jerry Reinsdorf and Scott Boras have issues? Whatever your deal is, you need to stop bitching about money. As you started to contend, money often doesn't mean anything when it comes to championships. The Jets bought up a whole bunch of players off of FA this year and poor coaching and performance screwed up a sure thing.

Something that cracks me up is the Red Sox trying to scrape some kind of talent of the bottom of the pool. Brad Penny? Sounds like a 7 ERA. I love Smoltz, but if he signs there are health concerns as well as age concerns. The thing I don't get is, why are the Red Sox not letting other teams sweep up the remaining free agents. Manny, Lowe, and Oliver Perez have not singed and Pettitte is frustrating Yankees management. With news of the Smoltz transaction, I wouldn't be surprised if the Yankees come back out and make an attempt at one of these studs leaving the Sox much worse than where they started.

The Red Sox proved they can win without Manny, but do you really think that Youkilis will have the same kind of year? Bay is no Manny. A lot will be asked of Lowrie and they still have no catcher. Not to mention the rotation will be a huge question mark. Daisuke and Beckett will need to be in ace form. Lester is a stud, but who else? Penny? Wakefield? Smoltz? I have heard people be critical of the depth in the Yankees rotation, but going one to one this is howthe two rotations compare as of today:

CC > Beckett
Burnett = Daisuke
Wang = Lester
Joba > Wakefield
Hughes/Aceves/(Pettitte/Lowe) > Penny

The lineup is just as lopsided as of now, and if the Red Sox land Smoltz as a back end or bullpen guy, it will provoke another Yankee signing and they will get the biggest and best.

The Rays have NO chance of repeating. They just don't have the raw talent. Their number one average guy last year batted .274. They were one dimensional and that drew so much attention that their pitching will be the number one scouted thing by the Red Sox and Yankees. They also still have Troy Percival closing! It is just plain dumb to say that they will contend with the two powerhouses in the AL East.

The Yankees just have too much chemistry as of now to be a flop. With the additions of good clubhouse presences like CC and Teixeira, they will be a force to be reckoned with. Don't be surprised if they run away with the division this year with the Red Sox coming in a distant second (which still may be good enough for the Wild Card).

One last point. The White Sox had the 5th highest payroll last season out of 30 teams. So do me a favor and use a better argument than money. And for God's sake, win the AL Central. It is being practically handed to the White Sox on a silver platter. If Chicago can't clinch a playoff berth this year they don't deserve to be defended.

Hey idiot White Sux fan, why don't you go onto a blog about your team? Why do you feel the need to come into Yankee country and spew your pathetic trash?

You're jealous of the franchise, the 26 rings, the history, the popularity.....too bad for you.

Go blog about how Ozzie is loud mouthed fool and how the White Sux ownership doesn't invest back into the team. Nice going, loser.
