The Yankees will indeed ruin baseball. It doesn't take a scholar to figure out that if you out-spend everybody else by huge margins and buy all the best players, you will win. MLB has to put in a salary cap.
Fans will disappear.
There is a salary cap and the Yankees exceed it every year. So do the Red Sox. By doing so these 2 teams subsidize all the poorer teams in the MLB like the Rays. So quit your wining and get a life. The MLB salary cap rules keeps base ball from having a collection of crap teams like the NFL

Good buy magic mustache hello Marky T. Big upgrade at first base. Yanks needed a new first baseman more than the Sox do. For all you fans in Boston all I got to say is: How do you like them apples, ha?
Take it easy there Paul, A-Rod's still on the Jankees and so is the curse associated therewith. You're counting your apples before they're harvested son. Finally, Twooooo thooouuusssand! Twooooo thooouuusssand!

A great pickup for the Pinstripes.
How could you not like this guy ?
He can hit for average, power, has a gold glove at first, is a good guy in the clubhouse, he's young and healthy.
Does this mean we win the series ???
You can't take anything for granted, but our chances just got better.

there actually is no salary cap exactly. they have a luxury tax that you have to pay if you exceed a certain amount.(believe the yankees had to pay almost 30 million this yr)
baseballs cap works completely different then a salary cap. In baseball what they really should have is a minimum on the amount teams spend. Some owners should just sell as they have no interest in making their teams any better and increasing payroll.

Is it just me? Who is paying for all this. All I hear is people are losing their jobs, taking pay cuts, down sizing companies. Things are going up, market is going down.

Well something stinks. How can all the sport teams be doing Well. How can all the Bowl games, NASCAR, Hollyweird, TV, and Radio hosts be making Millions. Rush just signed for 40 million a year. Hannity makes 25 million. Colmes just quit a job where he was making 12 million to devote full- time in radio.(what a laugh there)

I did a paper in college about the depression. The Yankees led the league in attendance from (1929-1945) with an avg. of 5k per game. Crunching the numbers today, would be like 19k per game.

No way are we near a depression.

When I see the Yankees paying for a crowd of 15k to 19k per game I will start to believe it. Until then. Yes, Americans are a bunch of whiners.
