Alex is find.
Its been a long regular season. The Yankees have been on since the Allstar game or just ask the Red Sox. The first 2 nights they were in ready mode, this morning Torre has them ready, and tonight is GO YANKEE machine. Starting today, I just would not want to be a team not called the Yankees.
Alex's Box scores, sorry Indians
2 homers, 5 rbi's, and a whole lot of Yankee mystique
No one beats Alex in Pin Stripes, he has BABE POWER!
See you at the World Seeries!
If you really want to know; just make sure Alex reads this!

Wally Matthews is the best sport writer around. He speaks the truth and holds back no punches, he is a breath of fresh air in todays phony sport journalism. His article on a-rod today Sunday October 7th was right on the money. Somes months ago he suggested clueless joe should have been fired and I tottally agreed with then and I personnally don't want torre back, always disliked him. I have been a yankees fan since 1946. Keep up the good work Wally you are the best.

Uhh except that they did not pitch to him on Thursday in a key situation so how does that jive with this article?

This writer is full of ****. A Rod is the best player in the game, he is just struggling for 2 games. In game 1 when there were 2 runners on base and first base open they intentionally walked A Rod, and it was in the 5th inning, then Posada Struck out and Mitsui was out too. That game 2 he was 0 for 3 thats why they pitched to hime, because they thought he is struggling. WATCH OUT TONIGHT A ROD WILL BE WHAT YOU HAVE SEEN HIM ALL YEAR AROUND. WALLACE MATHEW NEEDS TO GET A LIFE RATHER THAN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE BEST PLAYER EVER TO WALK ON THE BASEBALL FIELD. WATCH OUT MATHEW YOU AND YOUR INDIANS ARE GETTING SCREWED.

If only the Yankees had spent all of that money on David Weathers and Mike Stanton. They wouldn't have even had to play the playoff games - the commissioner would have just handed them the trophy and told the rest of the teams to go home and enjoy their winter. But they had to spend their money on Chokerod Chokeriguez. When he gave up those 12 runs in game one (Another reason to fire Torre - everyone knows ARod should have pitched game 2, not game 1) I turned to my friend and I said, "man, 25 million dollars doesn't buy you much anymore. Unless you're buying burritos, then you still get a lot."

Are you sure he only struggled for two games? He went 14 straight playoff games without an RBI. He was like 4-for-47 before getting a couple of hits in games 3 and 4.
His struggles have been profound and catastrophic for the Yanks.
Matthews, finally you write a column where you demonstrate some baseball knowledge.
