Lots of experimenting but nothing seems to work out for the O's.

Patton. Albers. Sarfate. Sherrill. Mickolilioliolio.

Yeah, MacPhail really landed a lot of quality pitching in those trades, didn't he?

Oops. I'm not supposed to look at actual results or else it'll ruin the myth...

Get used to it , Peter the Great will not pay for top pitching so Andy must bring in average talent at best,,,,,,,,,,Peter must be proud , he doesn't have to worry about paying top dollar for any of these pitchers to play once every five days..........

Trembley lost another game for the O's with his idiotic pitching moves! First, how about letting Sarfate or Cherry go another inning as they were both very effective; secondly, if you have to bring in a lefty, DO NOT bring in Walker - he bites, bring in Castillo if you must!
Trembley is a bad manager!

Come on O's, just two more wins and we won't be able to lose 100.

Someone on Orioles Hangout compared O's revenue to O's payroll. The team is only spending 40.5% of total revenue on players' salaries.

Since OPACY only costs 7% of actual ticket sales (about 3% of total revenues), that leaves well over 55% of team revenues going to....ummmm....uhhh......

And fans support the ongoing slashing of payroll while Angelos pockets HOW MUCH OF THE FANS' MONEY???!!!

It really sucked last night that the video, "Oriole Magic", wasn't played at the conclusion of the game. It was so thrilling to see it on the video board when the O's took 1 of 3 from the Sawx in Fenway South.

I'm usually pretty tolerant when it comes to Trembley's bullpen moves as he doesn't have a whole lot to work with out there, but the 8th inning featured some horrendous decisions.

Walker is absolutely useless. He hasn't gotten left-handers out all year, so why is he pitching to Abreau? On top of that, DT leaves him in to face ARod, who is a career .500 off Walker. Terrible. Walker is done, stick a fork in him.

Truth is we don't have much of a BP these days. I miss Bradford and Albers more than Flat Breezy.

Here's another thing to consider in the "rebuilding" process.

MacPhail added a total of 9 players in the Bedard and Tejeda trades. All of those guys (except for Butler) need to be included on the 40-man roster this winter.

So basically, MacPhail has already set a huge chunk of the "rebuilding" and the die have been cast.

If that group of players aren't very good, and I maintain they're not, then MacPhail will have to either admit failure or ride it out.

He'll look bad if he starts cutting 'his' guys only a year into "rebuilding," so the team may be stuck with these guys for a while.

Quantity does NOT trump quality. And MacPhail is setting up perpetual TRYOUT CAMP in Baltimore.

This is exciting for some of the dimmer fans, but for those of us who expect to see the team win, the ongoing tryout camps are exhausting.

Aren't you the guy attacking me for criticizing the dumping of Bradford?

Now you miss him?

Bradford was one of the few guys who could record outs. They dumped him for nothing.

And some fans call that "rebuilding"...

Here are the results of starting pitcher tryout camps for 2007/2008:

2007 13 players

Best ERA as SP: Bedard 3.16
2nd best ERA as SP: Guthrie 3.44

2008 10 players (so far)

Best ERA as SP: Guthrie 3.15
2nd best ERA as SP: D. Cabrera 4.98

The Baltimore Orioles have used 16 different starting pitchers in the last 16 months.

Of course I miss the guy, especially after a game like last night, but I never attacked you for criticizing the trade. I merely criticized the way you spaz out and jump to conclusions before we even know the trade's outcome.

We can't even begin to judge the Bradford trade because we don't know who we're getting back from the Rays yet. And even if the trade yields a nominal player, the O's saved 4.5M on a 33 year old guy that really had no spot on next year's team anyway.

Wow, talk about Kool Aid.

So if a player is performing well, there's no room for him on the team?

Gee, I thought winning was the goal. I didn't realize the goal was to have the youngest team with the smallest payroll.

The really funny thing to me is that I'd say there's a 75% percent chance that Millar is back as the 1B next year.

And you'll be one of the guys explaining to me how that makes sense.

I have to paint around the front door and garage today, and I don't enjoy it. I'm killing time while I return e-mail and burn (some of) my music library to my new portable hard drive.

I type really fast, so these posts get cranked out in no time.

At least it's going to be a nice day for working outside. So yes, I have a life, and it involves work I don't want to do this AM.

Can someone please tell me how this IDIOT Trembley became the manager ? Are we really that hard up? I wonder how he manages to put his clothes on. What a joke. And they thought Joe Altobelli got stupid in 1985, D.T. acts like he's been dumb his whole life. Why does he continuously change pitchers when it is NOT necessary. Not only do we have no talent in our players the coaching staff except for Crowley is totally worthless, we scrapped the bottom of the barrell. Why not hire Alfred E. Neman?
