We'll take the win. Cuddyer was safe in Oakland last year when we got screwed. And it's another series win... a lot of good baseball so far from the Twins! Very exciting!

Definitely a bad call- but I thought the game should have been suspended much earlier. The conditions were clearly horrible, and it looked like the players had a difficult time even seeing the ball in the rain.

Regardless: Go Twins! Tied with the Rays for the best record in the majors.

I like Gardy, but I don't like comments like, "I don't give a flip whether he's out or safe." With this kind of thinking, it's my humble suggestion that they shut down the Twins off season caravan across the state unless they state, unequivocally, that its not about teaching kids sportsmanship and character development, but only about marketing and filling the seats. Gardy is moving right up into the league with John Madden, who used to say, "It's not a penalty if you don't get caught." Same logic as the guy who robs convenience stores.

The call went the Twins way but they were still up by two runs with two out. Its time to look at whats wrong with Blackburn's inability to get the ball down. Did he even get a ground ball out? He can't possibly be a starter the way he is pitching. If the Twins don't have someone they can at least try in the rotation they are in trouble. Don't wait too long to start looking for another starter. Do it early before its too late. Winning is catchy. Go Twins!!!!

Hard Truth, how does Gardy's comment have anything to do with teaching kids sportmanship and character development?

He was saying, "We've been playing ball in the rain for 4 hours, it's 50 degrees outside, we're wet, cold, and it's the 12th inning. I don't care if he's out or safe, the ump made the call and we're taking the win and going inside to get warm and ready for tomorrows day game..."

Get that stick out of your butt, THT. It was just a game, and just a comment. Gardy is a good guy.

The Twins were hosed by the foul/fair call on Mauer's hit in the playoffs. Like it or not its good to see a bad call go the Twins way! It was a good back and forth game with plenty of help from the Royals muffs in the field. Hard luck for their fans but it happens.

Rauch really had to pitch another inning with the bull pen depleted (except Burnett who will be the main reliever available today). Blackburn is a concern. Two poor outings. Supposedly he was pain free after an extra day off. I wonder if he could skip his next outing with a day off Monday? The situation at AAA doesn't seem to have a ready starter to bring up at this point.

Did you really say this? It is obvious that you are still a son but not yet a father. Things will change for you, or, at least I hope they do. And though a stick may be up my butt, as one writer noted, I'll let it lodge there proudly. I want my kids to shake hands with opponents, do no leering and taunting, and take no pride in victories earned by blown calls.

No apologies for my comment, sweepem. Think back on this in a few years when you've got kids of your own playing sports.
