At the SF Opera, Wednesday: At intermission, applause from audience. Why? Many were following the Giants game on their portable devices, and the game had just finished (Giants won).

At the SF Symphony, Thursday: Several members of the audience were wearing Giants orange (black is too common). One Chinese woman was wearing an orange shawl and was looking at a portable device, so I assumed she was watching the game. No. She was actually from China (not SF Chinese), was on the phone to her family in China, and had just bought the orange shawl because she noted a lot of people wearing orange (she did not know why). The Giants lost, else I expect that there would have been an announcement from the podium.

City Hall, and the Opera building, are illuminated in orange when the Giants make post-season. I also had thought it was for Halloween until a local informed me.

If you think "Dusty Baker" is a cute Noe Valley scone shop, you might be a bandwagoner.
Actually, I believe Dusty Baker is the wicked cute lesbian that runs a Noe Valley scone shop. Her wife's pregnant their first so buy a couple of extra scones when you're there.

That, and the 49ers are going to win the Super Bowl this time.

Boo. You can find more "Frisco values" at the Ballet, live theater, and some other high-class establishments. I subscribe to them. I don't go to baseball games. But I don't sign up for the "Frisco values" agenda, either.

Kinda like people who occasionally read your newspaper column and not really being loyal followers. The true fans read the crappy stories as well as the rare wins and have so for decades.

The posers go out and decide to buy your book and coming to see you perform. Don't worry Wallace I won't be on that bandwagon.

Now Wassup with that?

Speaking of jumping the bandwagon, isn't it about time for Banal Wally to stop distracting us with silly amusements when there are serious national issues on the table?

I know, we all need a little entertainment at times, and most people cannot handle too much reality, but really Wally, do you have to insult is yet again by talking about grotesque stereotypes when that's pretty much the substance of all you write?

It's gotten to the point that when I read Wally I'm reminded of the old song "The Band Played On", and want to run for the exits. Rome is burning and Wally feeds us yet more Bread and Circuses. But perhaps that's all the Populo are capable of digesting, which has some serious ramifications for a system of government laughably called Democracy.

Sometimes I wonder if the only thing the Sentinel is good for is "lulz".

Not a mention of Baseball in 3 years of working at my place, I'm surprised the buildings haven't fallen down with all these "fans" crawling out of the woodwork.
