This would be of importance because it involves the investigation into the abuse of ILLEGAL drugs and those who supplied them as well. There was alot more at stake than finding out if Barry Bonds used steroids. It was about their abuse & distribution with in major league baseball & the players/associates.

Who were the ILLEGAL drug dealers supplying major league baseball. That's what alot of this came down to. Don't forget steroids became a fully controlled substance by the early 1990s which means without a doctor's script if you were doing steroids without a doctor you were involved in ILLEGAL drug trafficing even if at the misdemeamor possession level. But who were the drug dealers in steroid abuse with-in major league baseball.
