Let's hope that Baker settles down and that Liriano has his control when the Twins take on the Rays. It was a good series at Cleveland, one that the Twins needed. Still, the Twins had a chance to sweep and the bats just couldn't come through.
Suddenly Morales his getting hot at the plate, just in time to be shipped to Rochester when Mauer returns. Crain will be coming back, too, which means a pitcher will probably be joining Morales. Who will it be? If it were up to Gardenhire, I bet that Casilla and maybe Gomez would head to Rochester, Morales would stay (the Twins would go with three catchers), and Tolbert would join the Twins. |

Perkins didn't pitch great but he hung in there and it beyond me why he didn't go a little longer. Bases loaded twice and we couldn't get a hit. Leaving nine men on base is unacceptable and we could have won this game. Relief pitchers did well again. Go Twins!!!!

1 You hit the nail on the head, the same thing I was screaming, ut no mention of the managerial flub from Kelsie we get such great reporting. Span was not supposed to create more magic he was supposed to sacrifice to get the tying run into scoring position. I guess the guy who woke Gardy up when he pinch hit for No G0-go forgot to wake him up again in the ninth. |

watching the Yankees/BoSox hitters compared to the Twinkies. They're so much more disciplined and rarely chase the sucker pitches that Twins hitters almost always flail away at. Also, instead of trying to pull the low and away sliders, they go with the pitch to the opposite field with power. Unless, and until the Twins hitters become more disciplined, they'll never be able to compete with the elite teams.
