Why all this talk about Unions, bloated salaries, and a pension tsunami of debt? Can't we just admit that the present system of Union payoffs in the form of campaign donations to our politicans in order to maximize these gold plated perks is unworkable and unsustainable? Let's just start Contracting out most of our City services. Although some might argue that contracting out of services might have it's drawbacks, the system we have now is clearly not working in the taxpayers favor.
I would be willing to tolerate a little graft, payola, and bribes by these Contractors than to have to put up with this blatant system we have presently of massive giveaways of our tax dollars.
