This comes as no surprise!!! It was obvioius from the beginning. Mark says if drug testing had in been in place in the 90's, "we wouldn't be having this conversation..." That's a lame excuse. He clearly lied, took credit for breaking a record, when in fact he was secretly taking steroids. I'm glad he's sorry. I'm sorry too. He doesn't deserve Hall of Fame. There are always consequences for dishonesty. Cry all you want, Mark!!

I lost all interest in baseball after the 1994 strike. The story of Mr.Mcgwire only magnafies the nonsense we have had to put up from the MLB.I have worked for a company that did random drug tests and if you fail you are out period end of story. It would apper to many that he is eatting some crow so he can become the hitting coach for the Cards.

Drug abuse is drug abuse no matter how you label it. Why are athletes in the Olympic teams disqualified from winning if they use them? It gives them a unnatural advantage. What example does it set for our children?

I'm most disappointed in the media. I've been a Fox 2 fan for over 15 years and most of the personalities at Fox 2 seem to be pushing the negative side of this. Knowing Mark McGwire, I have felt all along that his silence was in part to try to avoid bringing others into the picture. He would rather take the brunt of the criticism than take the chance of incrininating teammates, friends or involving family. The 1998 homerun race brought baseball back to the fans. Now it's time to forgive Mark and move on to a 2010 race to the World Series. Go Cards!

How does being on steroids help him be able to make contact between the baseball and the bat? Sorry it takes a good eye and timing to be able to select the pitch you are going to swing at and hit. I realize it gives him a strength advantage once the ball is hit, but he still had to make contact. He could have just as easily been a strike out king with a heavy swing. I don't condone the use of steroids, but I applaud the man for finally stepping up and admitting his fault. Because, I feel, there are undoubtedly others out there that need to do the same. Would all this fuss be happening if he didn't break the record? I think not!

It is not a surprise he did it. The issue is the record, why should his name stand * or not. How can you break someone's record who did it the right way without help, if you cheated.

His name should be removed for breaking the recorded. All he broke was trust.

As far as forgive and move on, God forgives us, so we need to do the same.
