How bleeding pathetic!!! Mark McGwire epitomizes everything wrong with contemporary America. Vain. Egotistical. Gloryseeking at any cost. Goodbye
and bad luck to him.

Too little too late. This isn't news to anyone.
He is saying this now for his convenience only.
The records should be taken from these losers.
If they had a commissioner at the time he would have done something about it. Yes baseball fans like HR's. But not to the point where its absurd!
73 in a year, come on.Its one small part of a great game. Bud hole Seilig ruined the game.

Morris said it best. Taking performance enhancing drugs can be so detrimental to our children that the message about taking them has to be crystal clear. They are harmful, and taking them is both dishonorable and dishonest.

Morris said baseball still needs to address the issue of performance enhancing drugs.

"And not with a slap on the wrist," he said. "The big guys who tested positive, kick them out of the game. They should be kicked out of the game. The young kids have to know it won't be tolerated, and that you play this game fairly."

I'm a little annoyed with Commissioner Bud Selig. Pete Rose deservedly has been banned from baseball for gambling on games. So, how come the Commish won't ban these guys from the league for cheating? McGwire should not be allowed in ANY major league clubhouse from now until eternity.

The guy deserves a second chance!

Humans have cheated since the start of time
and they still do in many aspects and ways.

As long as they aren't killing anyone it is
part of human life men & women.

Please Bud & Hall of Fame experts let this
record setting baseball player in for the
fan's sake.

"I hope this works because I need my McGwire
rookie card to go back up in value so I can
sell it quick for a profit on Ebay."

The problem here is that Pete Rose gambled on his own terms.
Bud Selig on the other hand so to speak had a hand in the
STERIODS ERA of baseball.

It would be like a gang member snitching on the other and soon
you'll have a blood bath so the LEADER in this case Bud's hands
are tied.

And besides he doesn't want that on his Hall of Fame plaque !!

I was quite shocked!
I may be wrong but this news only affects sports pundits.
If it weren't for steroids and BCS what would happen to sports radio?!
I do not see his use of roids as cheating; not only was it not against the rules of baseball, it was encouraged!!
Baseball would never have recovered from the labor strike had they enforced PED testing. Why do you think Selig is so quiet, saying only the most necessary "Oh aint it aweful"? He looked the other way for a reason. If he were to now make a stand he'd be as hypocritical as canseco. Baseball can hardly poo-poo Magwire now after riding his back (and the back of Sosa)to regain prominence.
Magwire's behavior was illegal, was poor role modeling, perhaps physically risky and chemically abusive behavior, but it wasn't cheating!

Morris and Hrbek both got it right he cheated just because he now admits to it means nothing and he shouldnt be allowed near the game he helped ruin. Biggest reason for Morris not being in the Hall Fame is because of his high ERA which he was pitching against cheats should be a factor and should be in the Hall of Fame if i was Jack i would be pissed

McGuire, Sosa, Clemens, Bonds, A-Rod are cheaters, plain and simple. They broke records of players who did not cheat. Anyone who says they did not cheat is an idiot. What are steroids? Performance enhancing drugs. Major League Baseball should expunge from the record books any and all records that any of these players accomplished.
If the NCAA can remove a college team win/loss record when a school is found to have cheated, then baseball should have the balls to do the same.
Finally, where is that pussy Commissioner in all of this?

Allowing steroid-user performances to stay on record with eventually erase all the truly impressive baseball players from memory... those who make the sport timeless. Imagine seeing no Maris, Aaron, DiMaggio on the record books anymore. Instead all you see is Bonds, A-rod, McGwire, Clemens. Disgusting.

I guess everyonr knew but that astute coach,Tony LaRussa. To pretend that you didn't know that McGwire was juicing is asinine. Jose Canseco may be a jerk to many people, but at least he's an honest jerk.
