Full story: WFMZ 14
Alex Rodriguez became the youngest player to hit 600 home runs Wednesday, reaching the milestone after a 12-game drought - and exactly three years to the day after his 500th homer - with a drive off Toronto's Shaun Marcum in the first inning at Yankee Stadium. Full Story

Say what you will about cheating.....the hall of fame is full of cheaters.
Baseball players have tried to find an edge since the dawn of the game....this is NOT news.

yeah so where hundreds of others and they were caught to and what did they do they just said well they ain't a big pro player we will let them off the hook and go after the more bigger and that have played for 20 or more years and i do agree it was stupid of him to take them but he said quote for quote i only did them because i was injured and i wanted to play , and after that he has not been doin them because every year they drug test them and he has be proven negative, he only did them once and he was done, barry bonds was an idiot and kept doin them after he was caught and when he was in trial because he wanted to stay like that and hit 700 800 homeruns alright.

Bonds never tested positive. It was only alleged that he took them. A-Roid admitted to taking them while with the Rangers, and he tested positive. Personally I don't care who did or didn't... It just needs to be fair. If A-Roid gets in the hall of fame why wouldn't Bonds? Bonds was villified but A-Rod is made out to be some kind of hero? What sense does that make?

As I read these judgemental posts, I just wonder what the big deal really is. They were using performance enhancing drugs to get an edge. But, really, what is the difference between that, and say, using hyperbaric chambers to do whatever they do. Or mega-vitamin packs?
Yes, they can mess you up (see Lyle Alzado) but these are adults making these decisions and it all seems a bit overkill to me. Plus, for what they charge for games and all the extras, they should be pumping themselves with whatever they can find.

Another amazing observation was that when these guys were bulked up as they were hitting their HRs, noone cared at the time despite the fact that it was obvious that there was something fishy going on. Why? Because they were putting butts back in the seats after the public had enough with the primadonnas and their strike. These guys brought baseball back from purgatory, then once the game was up and running again, the inquisitions and judgements started. Seems a little hypocritical to me.
