Growing up as an anti-Yankee fan, my family was from Brooklyn after all, I have nothing but respect for Jeter. He is a class act. Yet this shouldn't put him on the field in his declining years. There are too many players that tried to extend their playing years: Steve Carlton, Ricky Henderson, Juan Marichal, (I'm revealing my age.) who would have been better off leaving at the right time.
