Alex Rodriguez hits home run No. 600

Alex Rodriguez became the youngest player to hit 600 home runs Wednesday, reaching the milestone after a 12-game drought - and exactly three years to the day after his 500th homer - with a drive off Toronto's Shaun Marcum in the first inning at Yankee Stadium. Full Story

Are we suppose to applaud this. He is an ADMITTED doper. Why should we care how many home runs he hits. He has cheated the game and as far as I am concerned he should be kicked out of MLB along with all other known dopers!!

It would be the same as if Snoop Dog ran a 3 minute mile.

Yep. And to think A-Rod is a hero to a lot of young men. How sad!

He's a choker! It only took him almost 50 at bats to get #600! Just like he always chokes in the post season. He went 2 for like 45 in all his post season at bats before he was on the Yankees. He's a dam joke. He's not a clutch player at all. JETER is!!!!

3 of the 7 top career homerun leaders are dopers. Bonds, Sosa, and Rodriguez. It is more than enough that they receive the big bucks and continue to play (at least in the case of Rodriguez). There is absolutely no way they should be eligible for the record books or the Hall of Fame. I agree with JMH3, who really cares if he hits 700, 800, or a 1000? Cheaters are cheaters, not heros.

You got that right. He will probably win a few more rings before he is done, courtesy of his owner who likes to buy them!

It should be pointed-out that the writer, Ronald Blum, indicated that Rodriguez had "joined an elite club". He listed the members of the 600 club but failed to put an asterix next to the names of two other dopers Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa.

who cares about ?dope? 70 to 80% of all mlb players are former dopers. what about the fact that he was hitting homeruns off of pitchers who were dopers? the man is one of the greatest players of all time and we are fortunate that he played in our era.
