Good for McGwire! Honesty is the best policy. Love the guy, but he cheated. As far as his comment - "Baseball is really different now - it's been cleaned up," McGwire said. "The commissioner and the players' association implemented testing and they cracked down, and I'm glad they did." Don't believe it. There are still many players using and getting away with it. It will always be around in some form or another.

And Sammy, and Raffy, and Frank and Alex...ha, ha, ha. They will wait for an eternity to enter the Hall like Gil Hodges.

They should not be excluded from the Hall of Fame based solely on their use of steroids
prior to baseball prohibiting the use. I understand how people feel about the dishonesty
involved and the character issues, but the decision should be made based upon an athlete's performance on the field.I doubt if Mark Mc Gwire will get very many votes for the Hall of Fame in the near future, but Pete Rose should have been elected into the Hall of Fame years ago.

awwww.... poor McGwire the injustice of circumstance.*fake tear in eye* Gawd, if only he could have played now, instead of when steroids could get him an advantage... While all along telling people he was clean. If only he could have known it was wrong! Wait... if he didn't know how wrong it was then why did he hide it? How could he lie to his fans like that? The creep! But wait! It's ok! He's sorry now, so it's all ok. We can all go on with our business. Just because he lied to his fans, his employer, and avoided the truth during the hearings where he had every opportunity to tell the truth. It's ok... because now he's sorry. When are we going to quit paying these losers the money we pay them? If they didn't make the money they wouldn't be doing the stupid things that they do. It wouldn't be worth it. Steroids, illegal drugs, prescription drug abuse, DUI, rape, guns, and stupidity. It seems to be running rampant in the "professional sports" field. Let me tell you something... there's nothing "professional" about stupid people continuously doing stupid things. "Professional" means they make educated decisions based on facts and research... not emotional decisions based on what will get them higher or enable them to cheat better in a field that made them who they are because they initially had talent. In the past, even the players with poor averages had fans because baseball was where good people played with few exceptions... today, none of them deserve a second look. McGwire is a disgrace and so is the game of baseball. It should all be dismantled and started over from scratch. Give McGwire a prison uniform and put him where he belongs don't give him a job where he teaches more of our young men how to cheat.

Amen, brother! And the fact that he has the balls to say that "baseball has since been cleaned-up" shows that he still is a liar and takes us for idiots.

McGuire is now boo hooing to Bob Costas. What a dope. He buffaloed the entire nation and took advantage of the Roger Maris family. He sucks.

Without steroids Mark McGuire is just another Dave Kingman.
