It's amazing that the sports writers have more say in the MVP decision than the players or the fans do. If it were up to the players and the fans, Mauer would probably be this year's American League MVP. Instead, we're in a wait and see situation, especially because several other candidates happen to be Yankees and playing in the World Series. From a player perspective, Mauer must feel quite good about being selected by his peers.

The only thing I want the Twins to move is the runner up logo stamped on their foreheads. Let's get out of the first round of the playoffs and actually contend for the World Series.
