MLB whispers: Cubs' Hill succeeds in Venezuela

Full story: Chicago Tribune

It's hard to imagine Rich Hill getting another legitimate chance with the Cubs, but it's worth noting he's off to a good start in Venezuela.

Let's be real here. As long as Lou Pinella is the manager, Rich Hill will never see the mound again at Wrigley Field, unless it's with a different team. Pinella threw off on Rich early on, and it was obvious Lou wanted him out of Chicago. I definitely believe it was much more a personality issue, than it was a pitching issue with Pinella, in regards to Hill.

Hey Phil, you have a warped opinion of what succeeding means. Rich Hill gave up 6 earned runs in the 1st inning of his start last night and allowed 9 of the first 12 batters to reach base before the game was delayed by rain. If that's succeeding, what is failure?

FYI: Rich Hill's current ERA in three starts (10.1 innings) is 7.84.

Once again, I guess it makes sense, Phil thinks his articles pass for journalism so that would pass for success.

Phil, how desperate are you? Rich Hill??? Really? I thought it was pretty funny when you were telling us Tommy Boy was going to bring Manny (and unload Sorryano to boot). Then you told us how Tommy Boy was going to trade D Lee and Fukudome for Peavy and Gonzales. That one made me think you are trying your best to keep the Cubbie hype machine alive and well. Now you have to go all the way Venezuela to find a bust like Hill - and tell us he is "succeeding" despite numbers to the contrary. Give it up - this sports section is such a joke.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Virgo

Unfortunately, this looks like being another difficult day, and, as Mars turns retrograde, certain people are quick to take offence or raise their voices. Make sure you aren't adding to the tension by doing or saying something that's provocative or even downright insulting. If you get involved in a shouting match it will be difficult to stop and you could say some nasty things in the heat of the moment.
