It's really a shame that all the major dailies are more concerned with overreporting an aging last place team than with giving fair coverage to a competitive & dynamic squad that was one well timed hit away from a world series apearance and who are presently 1/2 game out of first place. There is a sizeable population of NL baseball fans in NY (some argue there are more Met fans than Yankee fans localy) but the sports editors obviously haven't looked at recent standings or consdered the long standing tradition of NY as a NL town.
