I think the six in-house infielders Smith mentions make signing Crede an acceptable risk IF he is willing to sign a similar deal to last season, heavy on the incentives. If Joe only plays 75% of the games one of the aforementioned players can fit in and contribute. I disagree with the sentiment in the article that the pitching staff is in good shape. One legitimate ace added to the starting line-up would change everything! Blackburn, Baker, Slowey would make for a good 2,3,4 guys behind an ace like Halladay. I don't know how likely that is, getting a pitcher like him, but it would change everything. Pavano is good enough to start for the Twins but not quite what the doctor ordered either.
