No shame in stuffing the ballot box for Shane - Hawaii Sports

Full story: Honolulu Star-Bulletin

The last time I'd voted for anything having to do with the All-Star Game was in 1975.

Major League Baseball lost it's ethics a long time ago when they failed to discipline the first druggie, wife beater, or steroid user with punishment more serious than a slap on the wrist.

Stuffing ballot boxes is about as un-sportsmanlike as it gets but who in baseball cares, including sportswriters.

He deserves it why exactly? Because he's from Hawaii? Look at the numbers, he was the fourth-most deserving out of the five guys. BOGUS!

It's more than numbers ... like I wrote, best all-around player. Including defense.

I'm a baseball fan, although not a Phillies fan. But I like Shane Victorino for one reason. Every time I see him on a Baseball Tonight or local sports news clip, his uniform is dirty. He's not some overpaid prima dona who's more concerned with not skinning his knee than with winning the game. He slides, he dives, he plays the game all out, 100%, all the time. So he gets dirty. Well deserved, and good luck (but not too good, I'm not much of an NL fan either).

"Really"
Don't forget, every other player on the list had fans stuffing the ballot box too. Don't act like it was only Shane's fans. He is a catalyst for the most explosive office in the National League, is a gold glove center fielder, and has a tremendous arm. How is this bogus?

Long gone are the days when our Hawaii athlete's are ignored. They have all worked for and earned their places in the world of sports and put our State on the map..finally. Those who know Shane, his family, teachers and friends know that he is a humble, talented, focused and dedicated "Homeboy".

Not only that, he has a real birth certificate. We know who he is, where he's been and where he's going.

Congrats Shane. We love ya!!

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Sagittarius

Moodiness is never far away today, making you over-react to problems and giving you a tendency to take out your feelings on your nearest and dearest. If someone asks you what's really wrong, you'll struggle to explain and may even have to give up because you can't put it into words. It's like an itch that you can't scratch, and you don't know where it stems from or what it means.
