Does that mean he wont be with the team next year?

Hudson is a class act. Yeah, who wants career advice from Gary Sheffield?? Seriously. It's nice to see someone go about their business in a professional and respectful manner and not be a cry baby prima donna athlete. We're gonna miss you O Dog!

He's a free agent. Theoretically he could be back but there is little chance he will. |

Hudson was not dealt with in a professional manner. And he has to much class to be a disruption in the club house.

Maybe Torre is more of a Cat person.

I am not really sure what part of...
complaining to teammates, complaining to players on other teams and ultimately complaining to the press while never addressing the situation with the one guy who could do something about it is classy. Did he really think that whining to teammates and players from other teams, Gary Sheffield of all people would get him the answers he was seeking? I guess if the thinks he wasn't treated fairly by Torre then he wasn't. But he wasn't exactly fair to Torre either. If he expected Torre to babysit him, he should have told him. |

Great post Really Classy. You brought up some good points. The blame is placed on Torre without thinking about how Hudson should have properly handled the situation.
Gary Sheffield was a Dodger some of us would like to forget. |
||||
Or possibly, Joe Torre benched him from a starting position and: Never said anything to Hudson Never said anything to the team Never answering the presses inquires Is that your definition of classy? And, what does Gary Sheffied have to do with anything? |

Replacing team cancer Jeff Kent with O-Dog was one of the best moves the Dodgers made. To treat him the way they did, and go with journeyman Belliard just because he was hot for one of the few times in his career was a mistake in my opinion....

Yes it is. The manager fills out the lineup card and doesn't "owe" an explanation top every Tom, Dick and Harry that asks. From all accounts I've heard, Joe Torre has an open door policy with his players. I would really doubt that he didn't talk with Hudson about his decision. He has managed all this time in the majors and Sheffield is the only guy to really bash him Yeah, that Torre must be a jerk. |

Belliard hit about .370 with the Dodgers in September/October, and Hudson hit .227. So Torre should stick with the popular player over the one that gave the Dodgers a better chance to win? You probably would have preferred he pitched Billingsley over Padilla, right? |
