And of course the editorial missed the massive c lean-up that Harley still has to do on the York property - with possible contamination leaking into the production areas: http://www.epa.gov/reg3wcmd/ca/pa/pdf/pad0016... http://www.depweb.state.pa.us/landrecy/cwp/vi... http://www.yorksiteremedy.com/ That is all I found with a cursory look - I am sure there is much more out there. Funny the company is keeping it close to the vest at this point - but I am sure it will be a major factor in their reason for leaving.

Well, speaking as someone who lives in Shelbyville, we sure hope Harley is coming to town. We love Harley and all things related! Shelbyville is an amazing town with the best of suburban life and city life mixed into one. You're just 20 minutes from restaurants and shopping in Louisville, and yet you have wonderful schools, a sense of community, and low crime rate in Shelbyville. Housing is incredibly affordable and the people here are the friendliest I've seen anywhere. I moved here from San Diego four years ago and I wouldn't live anywhere else. Coincidentally, neighbors on our street are from the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles and they chose Shelbyville as their favored place to live and moved here without teaching jobs, knowing that everything would fit into place once they arrived. It's that kind of place that lures people from big cities and keeps them happy once they're here. So come on, Harley! We'd love to have you!

I do have a little insider. There was a slip made from the big office as to next year. According to what I heard Harley isn't going anywhere. And there are many behind the scenes plans that are saying they are here for the next several years.

I can't understand why our union doesn't call a strike now, this would be the best time to let the company know we mean business. I for one won't take any pay cuts or reduced benefits.I paid union dues for over 27 years and our union isn't doing anything about it. We need to take a stand and picket together.

You're full of it, and certainly not a union member. There are so many fallacies in your post.

You are an agitator. You are not a Harley employee. You are attempting to cause more unnecessary problems. Go find another thread to entertain yourself.

I'm sitting in Dover, PA as I type this and--unless something's changed since my last post--it will come up reading "Lebanon, PA", a town about 40 or so miles away from here.
