I assume you meant "is it" vice "it is"...Well, why do you think that's fair to rape a white woman as a reaction to "disrespect" toward a group? while the "noose" may have stirred up powerful, and resentful, emotions. It was not a physical crime of violence. If your reasoning is accurate, this is nothing more than revenge. hardly equality, and hardly working toward equality. Pin head.....I refuse to debate symantx with you, hon. I am all for changing minds and hearts, but I doubt anything I could say on here would change you or your opinion on this topic.

I mentioned our (AA) various shades......not being of obvious mixed race (i.e. my daddy is white and my mom is white)....I was referring to those of us that identify ourselves as African American....descendants of slaves. In my lineage...there was no doubt some mixing....not sure if it was by choice or force. I've heard no stories of interracial love affairs so I have to assume it was the latter.

Today....I'd say most people of mixed race were created by choice.....in the past......or historically speaking.....I dont know that many black women that chose to date or procerate with white men. Attribute this to me growing up in segregated Baltimore....but not many people I know saw white people in a sexual or romantic way.

So.....I will not waste my time. Im a far from a quitter, but this is a debate that neither of us will probably make any head way via this site.

I am not so naive to think that the only way you get a light brown black person is to sleep with a white person .......but there is so much emperical evidence that shows that black women were subjected (most times brutally) to the whims of white men throughout time and as a result....there was not doubt rape that occured....this produced what you see today.....this is part of Africans bought to America as slave's history. Do you admit that this occured? Admitting this will go along way to making America a better country. You have a lot of nerve telling any african american person what they can do to make YOU feel better. We did not create racism...its funny how now we are solely responsible for fixing it.

If you didn't care, I don't think you'd be in this forum. that's not healthy, nor does it do anything to resolve problems.

No racial connotation intended: I am a purist. a criminal, is a criminal, is a criminal. Simple as that. I don't care what color, religion, age, creed, hair color, eye color, height, weight, etc. If they commit a criminal act, they should be treated accordingly.

I have never considered myself a racist. and truth be told. there are white groups out there that would hang my from a tree right next to you. So don't go thinking it's an exclusive "black" thing.

You do a great disrespect by accusing all white men of anything. that is the kind of generalization we have both spoken against. Simply not true, nor is it fair.

You mentioned the biased media. I've always seen the media as biased against white, heterosexual males in society. They are the new doormat for everybody to wipe their feet on; at least as portrayed in the media.

I know your response to this will be "typical white man trying to show he's not racist; racist bastard" BUT...I have been best friends of mixed couples, my ex-wife wasn't white; my kids aren't white. I've always tried to judge a person by their words and their deeds. Sometimes that's not easy.

I think I understand most of what you're saying but it's not completely fair in some of the judgements either. nor is it an exclusively Black thing.

After the Civil war there was a movement in congress to ship all Irish people back to Ireland, it was declared that now the war was over, they didn't need the "potato farmers" around to fight and die anymore.

Between the Irish and the Blacks, there were the chinese that built the railroads along with the Irish. Guess they found a new reason to keep the potato farmers around a bit longer.

Jews during WWII. Koreans during WWII by the Japanese. Hell, it's gone on throughout human history, look enough and you will find that every single race on the face of this earth was enslaved and treated as such by someone else.

You can never set the past right. But there are things that we all know are right that can be done now, in the present; and hopefully that leads toward the future. Someone has to take that first step or it will never be taken and all of us will be lost.
