Why should they? In Maryland you can count on the politicians making excuses for you and bailing you out.

Your statement is almost as silly as "Don't have kids if you can't even afford to support yourself!"

Then there's "Don't come here illegally and then expect to receive services."

Actually, I called this number (MD-Hope) out of curiosity. Basically the only thing they can do, is call your lender (with you) and see if they rate can be reduced slighlty or see if there is any way the lender can work out a 'repayment' plan if the homeowner has fallen behind. This is an absolute waste of time. The owner, can do this with his lender on his own if he is in an economic crisis. When I inquired more, I was told most of the state agencies are out of money, so why are they promoting this? Very odd.

Not odd at all, simply more in the O'Malley trend of pretending to do something without actually doing something.

Of course, in all fairness I must admit that the state should not be doing something.

Oh, I certainly agree...I just thought it was interesting that they are promoting this, but its really doing anything.

Of course doing nothing is still costing the taxpayers something. It's kind of like MOM's Professional Regulators at the PSC. They have determined that there is nothing they can do ("DUH!") and for that they have gotten big fat raises twice.
