YIPPEE! Health care reform APPROVED by the House....now onto the Senate......what a HUGE victory! We still have along way to go....but we are certainly moving in the right direction. Watching the House debate and vote yesterday was extremely momentous! Watching history in the making. Reminded me of watching Obama win the election last Nov! Being a part of this groundbreaking event in indeed INSPIRING!
And with a vote by a republican, this was a bipartisian vote as well!
This is what America needs!

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is pushing a 2,030-page health care reform bill that would require U.S. citizens to either purchase $15,000 health care policy or face time in prison.

According to wording from pages 1 and 2 of the document, Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage” and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5 percent of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.

Today, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-Mich.) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail.

In response to the JCT letter, Camp said:“This is the ultimate example of the Democrats’ command-and-control style of governing – buy what we tell you or go to jail. It is outrageous and it should be stopped immediately.”

Where is the part about Liberty and Freedom? Its missing, right!

Desis Rising Up and Moving (DRUM)describes itself as the central point to "direct leadership of INS detainees and their families, undocumented immigrants, and Desi youth in the struggle for human rights for immigrants and all oppressed peoples."

No surprise here that you are in favor of this legislation. "Havenots" are always looking for a free handout.

Many Democratic politicians and one lowly Republican are willing to commit political suicide at the expense of hard working Americans because Nancy Pelosi told them healthcare reform was more important than their jobs sooo, too hell with the voters.

This bill will never make it through the Senate because as there is no way in hell the Democrats are going to permit the Stupak amendment to remain.

sweetie....its not for me....I do very well working in Manhatten thank you! I do have compassion for the millions of people current and future who for many reasons cannot obtain health insurance. THAT is criminal and THAT is why I fight ignorant people like you. America is a better place today because of the vote in the House last night. it shows we are united and heading in a better direction!

If you believe health care is a "right" can you pleas tell me where in the CONSTITUTION it says that? if health care is a "right" than doesn't that mean it is also a "right" to have a house, car, job, wealth to no end and shouldnt all these be FREE as a "RIGHT" it only fair that we should all have no worries of these things being taken away shouldnt we?
