from The Baltimore Sun:

"The three former Episcopal priests said they found themselves more aligned with Roman Catholicism and less with increasingly liberal stances taken by Episcopal leaders. The nation's sixth-largest Protestant denomination has been divided in recent years over the ordination of gay men and women and same-sex marriage ...

"The Episcopal church's General Convention has declared homosexuals eligible for any ordained ministry within the church, consecrated an openly gay bishop and written prayers to bless gay unions. The Roman Catholic Church teaches that homosexuality is 'intrinsically disordered.' It celebrates marriages only between men and women ..."

... as it should be celebrated.

Don't worry, the romans will continue bitching about their new liberal priests.

As a matter of fact you've posted stories about them!

They are a good thing as in this article, they are a bad thing from the other articles you've posted.

And the most interesting thing is, WE DON'T CARE.

I've been to the churches of many denominations over the years. TEC is too much like RCC anyways.

In Illinois, one diocese (Quincy) has left over TEC's national leadership's stand against the Bible's commands against homosexual behavior. The Springfield Diocese aligns itself with more conservative groups and ignores TEC leadership. In the Chicago Diocese, many parishes have divided or left en masse, and a number of Episcopal priests have also become Roman Catholic. Surprisingly, ELCA ministers have also become Roman Catholic priests in the Chicago area, with very little retraining and allowed to remain married.

The Episcopal Church has lost about 1.5 million members, and it is no longer among the top ten largest religious bodies in America. Only 3 of the 10 largest religious bodies in America are classified as 'main line,' making that term rather archaic. All three of those denominations are loosing members, while nearly all of the other more conservative churches are growing.
