I suppose, but show me the statistics where LAWFUL gun owners murder people. So, no, not just like that other person.

It amazes me how critical reasoning escapes people when it comes to gun violence. Yes, Tech was bad, but pales in comparison to Chicago murders where....GASP....gun laws are some of the strictest in the country.

Please, grow up.

oh, go shoot something. you gun toters lame rhetoric about "guns don't kill people," is boring, exhausting and downright stupid. this is a perfect example of how it is impossible to keep guns out of the hands of folks that will do harm. how is it you think that only "responsible" gun owners should have guns? how do you enforce that? guns are bad, no matter what ignorant spin you put on it. they were designed for killing, not protecting.

You've got at least one thing somewhat right: Guns ARE generally designed for killing (depending on the type of ammunition used, along with dozens of other factors). So, protection is inherently a by-product in some cases. Regardless, this POS killed someone using a gun he very likely obtained illegally in the first place. Do you really believe he cared about whether or not he was breaking any laws before using said gun to feloniously kill another human being? I don't think so. By your simpleton logic we should take computers away from every American because some evil pieces of trash decide to download child porn. And large-sized soft drinks should be banned because they make people obese. It's not the tool that's the problem; it's the user. How's that for "ignorant spin?" Now do everyone a favor and crawl back into your hole.

At least two thirds or so of all firearm deaths in this country are suicides, probably more. If the media ever gets around to telling the whole story you will very likely learn that this violence was the result of two groups of free range democrats fighting over turf to sell their drugs in. To be fair, here in Cville most of the buyers are college students with money but the media won't touch that one with a 20 foot pole. Ask the retired cops about this and see what they tell you.

Once a person gets told they are going to die from a horrible cancer or disease I do not begrudge them the right to use a firearm to escape dying an inch at a time over a several year period and becoming a medical guinea pig while they are doing it. Their bodies, their pain, their choice.

Drivers using cell phones probably kill more people every year than firearms and the FBI statistics show that hammers and blunt objects kill more people than so called assault rifles do.

The real killer of course is drugs since gangs and other criminals kill their competitors and slow paying customers and firearms, illegally obtained, are the preferred way to do this. Local media here in Mister Jefferson's paradise rarely if ever tell the public WHY a killing happened and instead leave that portion of the story out nearly every time. Drugs pay for the stolen weapons and empower the simpletons that use them to kill. Most police I have talked to over the past 20 years credit drugs as the behind the scene cause of 95% of our local killings.

I invite all to compare the murder rates throughout central Virginia during the 1950s and 60s to those after the drug revolution arrived in the 1970s. More than slightly startling.

If it were not for guns your little panzyasz wouldnt be able to spew your bs, guns are bad, so what does that make hospitals that kill over a hundred thousand a year? usaully about 30,000 die in car wrecks or being hit by a car,100,000 every year from alcohol, over 400,000 year die from smoking, another 400,000 die from being too fat every year,
and we wont even talk about the over 200 million government has killed in this 20th century. Now go back and to making love to your obama doll

hospitals also save many more than they kill and host millions of births each year...30,000 die in cars, but many millions more drive to and fro safely in automobiles...100,000 die from alcohol, but many millions more enjoy it responsibly...400,000 die from smoking=smoking is an ignorant and recklessly stupid thing to do...400,000 die from being obese=people should stop being so freaking lazy...200 million the government has killed=many of them with guns. are you serious? they make obama dolls?

your argument is a prime example of the ignorant, boring rhetoric i was talking about, tex.
whether the gun is obtained responsibly or not, it is still made for only one thing...killing. as for your question, "how's that for 'ignorant spin?'" i would say you spun it just about as ignorantly as you know how.

Tell that to the tens of millions that hunt deer and do target shooting every year. Do your research and after you determine how many millions of hunting licenses are sold every year you will start to understand how silly you sound. Millions also "kill" clay pigeons as they shoot trap and skeet every year.

You and everybody else would be much better off if more people hunted and fished like they used to instead of loading blunts as a hobby. Nobody around here wants to admit as to how drugs cause our killings and other major crime since that might scare away the college students and their yankee dollars that keep this welfare Shangri-La in business.

Take a look at the magazine rack and see how many millions of people use firearms from hunting deer to target shooting along with trap, skeet and even shooting rats at city dumps throughout the nation. The nut cases and druggies that misuse firearms are pawns of the leftist media to sell their own bizarre agenda.

Look through history yes government killed most with guns, and first they confiscated the guns owned by citizens then they killed them, awesome plan!

Yes, yes, ignorant...boring...rhetoric. You are a prime example of a small minority who would impose their beliefs on everyone else. That's why people own guns.

Your argument is tired, ill suited to reality, and naive. But hey,we can hit cows in the head with a hammer for our beef.

You are so omnipotent, intelligent, and insufferably "right"... how is it that you are not effecting policy instead of typing away on this thread?
