Here is a simple response to the religious right. You demand we follow your religious laws. This however is a "free country" where religion and government are separate entities. If you continue to demand a theological state, we will outlaw religion to protect ourselves and the freedoms we have fought for. You are now warned.

<sigh> Legalize abortion, make it illegal to pray in schools, desecrate the traditional definition of marriage...we just keep going lower and lower.

Thank you so much California, especially the people that voted for Obama. Thank you so much for trampling on everything that he was supposed to stand for. You have stabbed your GLBT brothers and sisters in the back in exchange for supporting you. We could have begun this new era togethered and shown the world something it has never seen. Instead, you chose to marginalize us, make us second class citizens, like I am sure many of you once were considered. I hope you are proud of yourselves and the legacy your leaving for your children. History repeats itself.

The facts show that the older the voter, the more likely they voted for proposition h8te. Over time, they'll die off and this country will then vote properly to give gaythe right we deserve.

so you think if the vote was for gay marriage

that the anti-people would have smiled, accepted it and moved on?

no, they'd be on here and everyone spouting that as evidence of the coming rapture and decline of society

that would be the mother of all hissy fits

kinda like even having it on the ballot was

That makes a lot of sense. You preach "tolerance" and "rights" yet you lash out at one religion just because they exercised their right to have an opinion and voice that opinion. Don't you think that is a little bit of a double standard. You are going to spit in the faces of Mormon missionaries...how would you feel if somebody said the same thing about you. I think the gay rights activist are the most selfish, double hypocritical people I have ever come across. Grow up and accept that not everyone in this world is going to agree with you.

The reason this passed is that gay and lesbian couples are not happy with just being married. We have religious freedoms in this country and the government should not force anyone to do anything against his religion, yet this has already started to happen.

A photographer was sued because he refused to take photograph a same-sex couple committment ceremony because it was against his religious beliefs.

Four firefighters were forced to take part a gay pride parade, even though it was against their religious beliefs.

Eharmony.com was sued because it refused to offer its services to gays and lesbians, even though it is against the founders religious beliefs.

Two physicians were sued after they refused to artificially inseminate a lesbian couple, even though it was against their religious beliefs.

A Methodist camp lost its tax exempt status because it refused to host a same sex union at one of its facilities.

All of these cases are examples of government getting involved in religion, which is against the Constitution.

If gays and lesbians didn't force their beliefs and agenda on society, then perhaps this proposition wouldn't have been necessary to protect religious freedoms. Gays and lesbians are not happy with tolerance, they want to force acceptance.

I campaigned hard for this proposition and am elated that it passed.

This is incredibly sad. How would you feel if you were not allowed to marry the person you loved. Jesus in no way would support this. God creates homosexuals just as he creates you. You know God forbid we teach tolerance and equality to our children. "Family" groups you people have make me sick. There is nothing family oriented about taking away people's rights and dreams and teaching children the some people are "other". It makes me sick.
