I recently moved from Texas to Arizona. Now that the temps in Phoenix are reaching the 113 mark, I've noticed that my A/C will stop blowing cold air, usually during the hottest part of the day. If I turn off the a/c for a few minutes, and then back on, I'll get cold air for a while. Then, I keep having to go through the same thing.. off, on... I've noticed that this does not happen during early morning or at night. Anyone having this kind of problem? The year on my car is 2002.

I live in Houston, TX and when the temperature is over 95F, unless I'm moving fast, the a/c struggles.

Mine is a 2012 and the same thing happened to me yesterday in extreme heat (New Orleans). Was taking it to the Volvo dealer this morning but there was no problem. My last Volvo, an S90, I had for 12 years without any such problem.

Did you ever find out the cause? Mine 2006 C70 is doing the same thing.

Mine does the same thing. C70 2011. Runs cold when slow but on freeway it goes very cool, even at LO setting. Any buddy have an idea? Has done this most of the 60,000 miles. They fixed it once and helped for two months. They say it works fine now???.?

I have a 2011 Volvo C70 with 26,000 miles....I know, I know - barely out of the box. Today when I turned on the A/C the driver side was fine and then the passenger side was blowing out hot air. Shortly after that we had a burning smell in the car. Is there some sort ofelectronic component, condensor that controls each side that may have burned out?
