I too have the same problem, I'm not a car mechanic but the problem seems to be coming from the motor. Then again how could it possible if three of us have the same problem, all 3 VW MK 4 have oil sensor work shop and broken wind screen wipers??

Oil sensor cabling broken - faulty, perhaps plug removed, or oil sensor itself faulty. oil sensor sits at the deepest place of the oil pan, check if cabling is not ripped off. if all seems fine change sensor (not too easy)

btw windscreen wipers do have nothing to do with the oil sensor.

Yes I am having trouble with my golf TdI as well.It has now been back to the VW mechanic 4 times, and yesterday after they looked at it,I have now discovered my air conditioning is not working. We are at a loss as to what we can do next.I am so unhappy with VW it is clear they do not know what to do.This must be a design fault. Please is there anyonne out there who can help?Have had a new sensor, and it was clearly not that as it is still happening. We have tried to wring VW australia and they will not let you speak to anyone you have to put it in writing.Guess you can tell how we feel. Not B..happy at all.
