SUMMARY:
THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM, WHICH IS ALL ELECTRONIC IN THESE NEW MODELS, IS RANDOMLY MALFUNCTIONING, AND GIVES IMPROPER VOICE COMMANDS THAT HAVE CAUSED ME TO MAKE SUDDEN AND UNSAFE TURNS. IT ONCE TOLD ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE 405 FREEWAY: "TURN LEFT NOW". IT STOPS NAVIGATING ON ON ITS OWN WHEN YOU HAVEN'T REACHED YOUR DESTINATION. IT TELLS YOU TO TURN IN 300 YARDS, YET THE TURN IS ACTUALLY MORE LIKE 30 YARDS. WHILE PARKED AT MY HOME ADDRESS, THE NAVIGATION DISPLAYS AN ADDRESS 4 TO 5 HOUSES AWAY,(IT'S ABOUT 80 YARDS AWAY). THE SYSTEM JUMPED FROM BEING ON THE SOUTHBOUND 405 FREEWAY TO THE STREET AND SAID: "ROUTE RECALCULATION". THESE MALFUNCTIONS ARE RANDOM. MY WIFE AND I HAVE ACTUALLY STARTED VIDEO TAPING THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM IN ACTION TO SHOW THE MALFUNCTIONS. WE HAVE ACTUAL VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE MALFUNCTIONS. I HAVE TRIED TO HAVE TOYOTA REPAIR THE UNIT, BUT WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO SOFTWARE UPDATE. NOW, I AM BEING TOLD THAT THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM IS "OPERATING AS DESIGNED". THIS IS ALSO NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AS IT IS DISTRACTING, MISLEADING AND IT DOESN'T ALLOW ME TO MAINTAIN ROAD AWARENESS. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WHILE THE NAVIGATION IS IN USE.

Bought June 2013 traded for a VW Passat Sept 2013. This has to be the worst car I've ever owned. The car wandered from lane to lane, service manager drove car and said it was normal? It required total concentration to keep the vehicle in your lane. Also problems with voice recognition navigation system while driving and the final deciding factor in getting rid of the car was the water streaming in from the electrical panel [interior lights, sunroof]- hard to drive and hold a cup to collect water. It cost a lot to get rid of it but life is to short to have to put up with crap like this. I apologize to the unfortunate soul that buys it, I'm sorry.

We bought a 2013 Camery and found it had a hesitation on acceleration about 10% of the time. Had it in to the dealership and said they could not duplicate it. I picked it up from the dealership and it did it twice to me before I could get it home. It's scary to drive when trying to get into traffic not knowing if it will accelerate for hesitate. So far no one knows of a fix.

You need to insist someone from the dealer service department accompany you while either you or he drives the car. That way, when it happens both you and he will know it.

Same problem as many others, 2013 Camry XLE wandered all over the road, dealer claimed it was as designed. Very dangerous automobile if you value your life and the life of your family please look to another vehicle. We took a big loss and traded it in [not on a Toyota] at 5000 km worked out to about a $1, /km loss, but happy to be rid of it. Toyota is not what it used to be and they are not willing to accept that they have a problem.

Oh yeah the other reasons we were unhappy with this car was the terrible gas mileage - but the real kicker was the water that came in throught the
sun roof switch, heck just like having a water dispenser on your fridge.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL HESITATED WHEN AT STOP SIGN ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS, BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5.
My 2013 4 cyl hesitates with no rhyme or reason, we have brought it back and called the head office in California, only to be told they are unable to find anything on their test drive, so we are just stuck with this lemon dont buy a 4 cyl

Lost breaks on my 2013 Camry SE. The break light came on as I had just started the car, the car was recently serviced for 25K miles at the dealer. The fluid level looked fine when I checked it so I drove off thinking it's a light sensor.
As I was driving down hill near home in residential area, I stepped on my breaks because of the road condition and my breaks were not functioning as if it has lost complete power. I quickly pulled to the right and turned the engine off, waited for a short time and restarted the engine, Problem diapered. I have done search on recalls and found nothing addressing this issue. I have scheduled a service with the dealer to check the car. Wondering if anyone out there has come across this problem and what was the fix?
