I really don't care where the cars are made. When the check is written for the car it goes to a foreign business. Americans are so brainwashed that foreign cars are better. I have owned american cars all my life and have never had any problems with them because I take care of them and maintain them according to schedule. The way most of you bone heads drive aronud here it's obvious you want a car you can abuse and not have to worry about maintenence. Go ahead and throw america in the garbage can, but don't ever blame anyone but americans for not supporting their own economy.

This is old news. I remeber a story where a group of people died from the gas petal getting stuck under the floor mat in an Avalon. Why are they just making the recall? Toyota's track record is rarely unmatched but if you are getting good marks because you are withholding then that doesn't make for a good car company. I am glad that people's perception is slowly changing back to realize that all cars are pretty much the same. It is not that Ford or Chevy were ever horrible cars but they did have a reputation. I see that people are coming back. Good for America. Don't get me wrong. I know Honda, Nissan, and Toyota employs a very large amount of Americans and their cars are built here and sold here. But those Americans can just as easily work in the same plant with a Ford sign rather than a Toyota sign.

I totally agree. I couldn't understand what he was saying to see if I agreed with him or not. That was the longest sentance I've seen today.

I own GM as an American Tax Payer and I am not Chinese, although I love their food.

Does anyone not realize how the numbers are being spun. Toyota is recalling 2.3 million vehicles, they have already recalled 4.2 million about pedal problems.

HOWEVER, it has been stated that 1.7 million of these in the 2nd recall are part of the first, so that means only 600,000 additional cars are being recalled, so that makes it 4.8 million, not 6.5 like some are reporting.

I am happy with my German automobile. The majority of "foreign" cars are built in the U.S. and many of the parts are manufactured here as well...I never could understand why not buying an american car is not helping our economy? You think just because it has a Ford or GM badge that they are not getting parts from other countries?? Do some research!

You don't own G.M. its this kind of thinking that allows Americans to be screwed over and over by the politihacks.
The American people can't bail out a company with money they don't have. All of the money came from China ,so the chinese own G.M.That is why they are moving G.M. plants over to China.
You will not benifit in anyway from G.M's tax sucking They will be on their a$$ in another year.

It's funny that people here are saying to buy American made cars to help our economy but the clothes your are wearing right now were probably made in another country. The parts in the computer you are using right now were probably made in another country as well. Ironic...isn't it?

The problem is that the opponents to foreign car makers is that the money goes to a foreign company.

I get in to this argument at work. I mention that Toyota uses parts built by American workers, in American, cars are sold by Americans at American Dealerships, fixed by American mechanics, but all they say is that the MONEY GOES TO JAPAN.

Then when I mention Ford using foreign built parts on a car built in Mexico by Mexicans I am told that it is OK because it's all north America and they are an American company. I don't get it!

I have taken the approach that I will buy what I want. I don't care anymore about Japan, the US, or whatever.

Buy what makes you happy and that will make the economy do well....why? Because you are SPENDING MONEY.
